Shipping London > Vancouver

Hello,

My SO and I will be shipping our possessions to Vancouver from London when my PR (Spouse) comes through. Is it possible for anyone to recommend a shipping company, or guide to prices? We aren't shipping furniture, just small/medium items and a couple of larger things (computer, bicycle). We have received a quote for £750 and 10 weeks in transit via Sea. I don't have too much of a problem with that, but wonder if it's competitive or if there are alternatives to consider?

There are lots of them in the UK, but my wife knows the people at "Manns" ( http://mannsremovals.co.uk/worldwide/) and seems to think they are on the level. We may well end up using them Surrey -> Ontario.

FYI Zardoz I contacted Manns and they referred me to Excess International who are their colleagues that deal with international removals.

That's strange. I spoke to one of their reps today and he did not mention another company. He said to speak to Nick Cap o r n (I had to add spaces because the dirty word filter is way too aggressive on this forum and kept censoring his name lol) apparently he deals with the international moves.

ToqueEh, just an update. I spoke to Manns today and mentioned that you had been referred to Excess International. They clarified that they tend to recommend them as a cheaper alternative if you are only shopping a boxes rather than an entire household of furniture etc.
