Shipping before landing?

So I was hoping someone could maybe answer a question for me?

My husband is wanting to possibly ship a few things to my place that he can't fit in his suitcases (he really doesn't have much stuff.... Just a few bigger things). How can he send it here without paying duty or taxes? He will most likely send it a day or two before he does his actual landing, so he'll already be here when it arrives. Just not 100% sure how this all works? I know he will fill out the goods to follow on the B4 form, but how will they know not to charge us duty?

How big are the items? Anyways, contact the airlines if you going to ship as air cargo. Download the B4E form from the CBSA website and submit the completed form to the customs upon arrival to Canada. Read the guidelines for more information.

He was just wanting to ship a few things via UPS. Things he can't fit in his suitcase. He doesn't have that much.
