Shift to other work

Hi, I have a friend who wnats to ask. Because He is also a live in caregiver he wants to ask if possible for a live in caregiver to have other work contract like a skilled worker. He enter here in canada as live in caregiver then he wants to apply his bachelors degree in computer. Does he allowed to do that as long as they going to provide him a work permit?? Sorry for asking his question in behalf of me.

If he is in Canada working as a live in caregiver on a live in caregiver work permit but he finds another job he would rather take and is also qualified for, the new employer will first have to apply for a labour market opinion for him and if they get that, he can apply for a new work permit.

Once he gets a new work permit, he can not work at his old job anymore since his old work permit will no longer be valid.
