bymp, thanks for such detailed timelines.
since our applications were submitted, we have got 1 message saying "updated" but there is nothing showing in the accounts.
plus the accounts switched between "submitted" and "updated" back and forth.
such a black box!

i have to agree that the visas to canada is the most unpleasant one. i had dealt at least a dozen other visiting visas from other countries and nothing is as slow as this one. well, usa used to be slow too.

Applied 5/29, 2 separate applications, everything happened in sync for both cases:

5/30, update, but nothing changed and no new message
6/5, update, but nothing changed and no new message
6/6, update, but nothing changed and no new message
6/7, passport request message :)

Good luck everyone! Now I need to decide to send to VAC or NY consulate.

.................................

So, from US, as a J-1 visa holder and as a person who already visited Canada in 2011 for me it took 2 months to get a visa for Canada just for attending an academic conference for which I have an official invitation. (10th of April to 9th of June).

To sum up, this country is not a tourist-friendly country. Good luck to all..
