Has your Aunt visited or acquired a visa from U.S.A, Australia or any European countries?

This is her 2nd time applying for Canadian visit visa. She came here twice already. It was only 5 years validity before. Now she was granted 10 years.

Your aunt qualifies for the CAN+ program and the previous Canadian visa would really make an impact on her recent application.
It is better to present the whole profile. I say this because the "No bank statement" part might mislead people. Specially those who are applying from the Philippines.

The "no bank statements" is based on my experience when I applied for her in 2014 and now in 2020.

We did not provide that at all. The things that I have mentioned we have submitted are exactly the same things we submitted in 2014.

My aunt is single, has a job ($300) a month, with travel history (Singapore, Hongkong before traveling to Canada in 2014). She is 67. Maybe she got lucky, I don't know. Maybe it's my invitation letter... I don't know...

I am not saying to not put any bank account statements... and it's your call...

I am just sharing what I have experienced. cheers!

I just suggested to put the whole profile so that people might not be misled that applying for a TRV is simple.

Hello there! Congratulations on your Aunt's TRV application!

I am planning to invite my mom from the Philippines on a tourist visa probably when this pandemic ends.. I was just wondering do you think its better to apply her under the regular TRV instead of the superVisa? As far as I know those two programs are different right?

and I hope you don't mind if you can share what contents you put on your invitation letter? I really wanted my mama to visit me here. She's my only parent left, my dad passed away 10 years ago and it would be nice to give her a gift like this...

Hoping for your response and God bless you :)

Hello @Pinky2587 , what I always suggest to other Filipinos who wanted to apply for their parents, is to get the regular visa first because there is no medical requirement needed. Let your mom come here in Canada first with that visa, and if she really wanted to stay here then apply for a super visa which I believe they can stay up to 2 years. If I am not mistaken, for regular visa, you have to extend the stay every 6 months.

I want to send you a copy of the letter I made when I applied for my mom's visa but it won't let me. I think you have restrictions in your account.

Hi Charmaine! thank you so much for your reply.. I changed some of the settings in my profile, I haven't tried this before so I hope it will work now... :)

Thanks for the suggestion... Most likely she will just stay here for 2 months max, God willing if she can be here during Spring time for sure she would love to see the flowers :) she can't bear the cold season here :D

You should still be purchasing travel insurance even with a TRV. We see many post on this forum after a family member ends up in the hospital in Canada and wondering what they can do because they can‘t afford a bill. Some will be on a payment plan for the at least the next decade paying off a huge bill.

This comes next after visa approval...

Visa approval first
Airfare ticket and travel/medical insurance...
one by one... step by step :)

Hi Pinky and charmainefrances

I am also in process to apply Visitor visa for my parents. They have visited me thrice in canada already but now my mother's passpport exired and she got new one. I am applying to there visa and found if we applying visa for her we need to select Purpose of visit - other- COVID19. I am not sure if we really want to select that or simple Family visit?

Also, Can you please advise which documents have you attached and format of invitation letter? and do you have Itinerary and Quarantine plan as well?

"If you need to apply for a visitor visa
While these temporary changes are in effect, we’ll process your online visitor visa application only if you’re eligible to travel to Canada at this time.

You also must meet all regular visitor visa eligibility and admissibility requirements.

Step 1: If you need a visitor visa to travel to Canada, you must apply online for one. Only online applications will be accepted and processed.

Step 2: When answering the question on the application form about the purpose of travel, enter the following information exactly as written to ensure your application is prioritized:

  • For question 1 a) purpose of travel, choose “other” from the drop-down menu.
  • For question 1 b) description field, write “COVID-19” exactly like this (you must use capital letters)."

Thanks alot :)
