My Landing Experience:
Due to a flight delay, I actually landed on July 1, 2017 right after midnight at YYZ. I lined up at the "foreign passport holder" side of the hall. Waited for 15mins to meet the first CPSA officer at the counter. She wrote some symbols on my declaration card, and asked me to go to a side room. It was quite crowded in there, at least 30 people, while there're only 4-5 counters opened. I waited for 1 whole hour in the line. Some people in front of me had to be seated at the back of the room after being interviewed/screened by the officers at the counters.
Finally, it was my turn, I presented my COPRs and Passport. The officer then asked me several typical criminality questions, asked about my martial status, and lastly how much Canadian Cash was I carrying with me at that moment. Then she asked for my Canadian Address for the delivery of my PR card.
After, she asked me to sign on the COPRs, she co-signed the documents. And told me to go to a Service Canada location ASAP to get my new permanent SIN.
That was it! It took 2 - 3 mins for the actual landing and paperwork. After, I went to collect my baggage and exited the restrict area around 90mins after I have landed.
Service Canada locations were closed for the long weekend, so I had to wait until 4th of July to get my SIN.
I am currently waiting for my Tax Credits from my old SIN to be transferred to my new SIN.
