Hello,

Has your visa been recently approved and have a lot of concerns regarding immigrating to Canada? Just comment your concerns and I'll share with you an excellent resource you can access for free. I am currently volunteering for this new program funded by the government of Canada and as a new immigrant myself, I know that there are so many things that we need to know before immigrating. Had I known about this program before, immigrating to Canada would have been easy peasy. Now, I'm sharing this to all of you to help you transition smoothly plus it is for free. Hoping to share the good news to everyone!

Cheers,
Abegail

find an immigrant service organization in your area and ask them to connect you to job search/job placement services, workshops and mentor programs. google "immigrant service organization" + your city, and something will come up. don't ever pay for this type of service. there are tons of free services for newcomers.

there are lots of free pre arrival programs funded by Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that you can access for free before your arrival to Canada. Some only have known CIIP but now there are numerous pre-arrival services and some are provincial specific programs and done online. Check here at IRCC's website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-services.asp and of course this are ALL LEGIT as you see in the website of IRCC.

if you heard Settlement Online Pre Arrival - SOPA is a national program in Canada and is province specific pre arrival to the six provinces: Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, BC and the Atlantic Provinces. The staff will guide you on your settlement and will directly refer you to the free settlement services available to your province before your arrival. They also have free online courses that will help you higher chances of getting employed immediately after arrival because you will learn how to improve your resume and cover letter in Canadian formal, preparing for job interview, keeping your job once hire and other very important topic on your employment as it is your immediate need, if your are interested brows the link http://www.arriveprepared.ca/ and register as soon as possible if you already have your medical request from your visa office. Did I say that this is the only pre arrival services that is employment focused...

I agree but it would be best to be connected before arrival to employment settlement agencies in your province of destination before arrival

Hi, there are a lot of free services from the government and local community centers that offer this kind of service. One of them is COSTI. I agree, you don't need to spend anything on this. Also, try networking online thru Linkedin. Work on your Linkedin account so that employers will be interested to check your account. Consider job placements too. It's like an unpaid internships but at the end of the day, you'll get the work experience you need plus who knows, the company might end up hiring you permanently. :) Lastly, don't underestimate the power of volunteering because it opens a lot of opportunities for you.

Hi, Hasan!

If your visa has been approved and you are still about to move to Canada, it is very important that you have all your questions about immigrating answered, right? There are many pre-arrival services funded by the Canadian government and since I am currently volunteering for YMCA's Next Stop Canada, I suggest try registering with them and I'm pretty sure that they will be able to assist you with all your concerns about immigrating. :)

Hey guys,

NextStopCanada.ca is a great way to find out about life in Canada, how to prepare for your move, what you need to do before you leave your home country and how you can bring your belongings tax free when you land in Canada.

It is a CIC funded program to help people from allover the world who are in the process of coming to Canada or have done a short landing.

They focus on the needs of the entire family, youth, adults and elders; and though they are focused on Ontario, they are offering Canada wide resources.

They are a team of immigrants themselves who speak many different languages and want to share their insider knowledge which is extremely important to know before arriving in Canada. It can save you money, time and bring you on a clearer road to success.

These services are free, as the Canadian Government funds them especially for you!

Ask them everything you want to know! Contact them as many times as you need answers.

You can contact all the pre-arrival services funded by CIC, you have the right to use all of them for free. If you dont like a service , you may move on to the next one until you find a good fit for you.

You need one of these documents to register:

Medical Examination or Security request letter
Letter requesting for passport submission
IRCC invitation letter to obtain pre-arrival services
Canadian Permanent Resident Visa
Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) letter

List of Free services for you http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-services.asp ( NExtStopCanada.ca is on this list)

Contact SOPA. They have a great free, government funded employment pre-arrival service to help you prepare for employment in Canada. Or ACCES Employment is also great for Ontario pre-arrivals in specific fields such as engineering, IT, Human Resources and a couple more... these Programs help pre-arival clients find work before they arrive in Canada so that they adjust easier and with confidence.

Why not get free help from the Government of Canada? :)

Agree with you... the government is trying its best to help you settle in Canada by funding free resources which you can access even before arrival in CAnada

Get help before arriving in Canada – Pre-arrival services funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). One of these is Settlement Online Pre Arrival (SOPA). SOPA offers FREE Online Courses that will help pre-landed newcomers to find and retain employment once they arrive in Canada. SOPA is a province specific program and is offered in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta and the Atlantic Provinces. The earliest you can register for the program is when your PR application is at the Medical Stage or received a Letter from Visa office to Register for Pre-Arrival Services. You will meet (online) with an Intake Counsellor to discuss your settlement needs and have the chance to register for the courses. The courses focuses on job searching, developing Canadian resume/Cover letter, applying for job, the importance of soft skills, gaining awareness of Canadian workplace and culture. For registration, go to the link and a staff will contact you once registered http://www.arriveprepared.ca/
