I’m from Nigeria and majority of the people here refer to the process of affixing TRV on passports as “stamping”. No need to engage in an unnecessary argument on that since you already know what they imply.

This is not an academic exercise. There is a procedure of visa issue and procedure of stamping a passport. One is done in advance, one is done to prove entry or exit to a country or to validate a visa on entry or to a country.
