Is it possible to use share (stock) valuated by bank as a means for proof of funds.

Looks like your Visa office id New Delhi. If that is the case then unfortunately share (stock) valuation is not going to work for you. This is what instructions mention -

Provide proof of unencumbered and readily transferable funds in a convertible currency available for settlement in Canada (for you and your family members):
•current bank certification letter; or
•evidence of savings balance; or
•fixed or time deposit statements.


Stock (share) cannot be considered as readily transferable funds. My suggestion is to sell them and show real money.

Hi ,

Will surrender value letter from LIC of India will work, as I have LIC policies and LIC is ready to issue surrender value certificate.

Please advice
