Shall we land in December 2014 or 2015?

Dear all,
I heard that it will be better to land in December 2014 and then come back continue my work, rather than landing in 2015. My friend told me that this will save me one year to get the citizenship. What do you think? Will this make a difference really? My main concern is financial. What do you think?

Nope - that's not how it works.

A person needs three years of phyiscal presence in Canada (not three years from the day of landing). So if someone lands in December 2014, stays for a few days, leaves for their home country, and doesn't return until 2015 - then for citizenship purposes, this is pretty much the same as just landing in 2015.

You need to be physically present in Canada in order for these days to count towards your citizenship. You can't count days where you are outside of Canada.
