Several Questions about a TRV for my Moroccan Girlfriend

Hello everybody and thanks in advance for helping.

I am looking to get a TRV for my girlfriend who lives in Morocco. This is our first time doing anything like this before so I have a couple things that I need clarified.

I think that we have a very strong case because:
We are only asking for a 12 day visa
She has strong family ties to Morocco and I am her only tie to Canada
She has a full time job and helps support her family
I easily have enough assets to support her through her trip

Now, I have a couple questions about what I should all include in our application.

One of the requirements is that we prove our relationship. I have chat logs all the way back from when we first met, about 7 months ago. I was considering including some excerpts but I don’t want to inundate the Visa Officer with too much information. I was thinking about including some pictures of us together on my recent trip to visit her in Morocco and a copy of a love letter that I sent her. Will that be enough? I can also include Skype and Viber call logs if that will help.

Also, I will be wiring her $2500 to hold in her account to help her financial position. I will be disclosing this in my invitation letter. The money will be sitting her account for 2-4 weeks before we start the visa process Will it help her case? I will also say in my invitation letter that I will be completely financially responsible for her. I will be proving this by attaching my bank statements to the application as well.

I think that the one major hurdle that we have is that she has never traveled outside of Morocco before. I was thinking about discussing the reasons for this in the cover letter, would that be a mistake? Should I just not mention it?

Also, I am having trouble figuring out how to prove that her family is dependent on her income. Would a letter from her mom saying that she is dependent on her income be sufficient, I don’t feel like arranging an affidavit or anything like that. I am hoping that a letter along with her bank statements will be sufficient.

Lastly, I am wondering about the flight. Should I have the whole round trip flight booked and paid for or is a screenshot of the wanted flight plans enough. I am worried about dropping $1200 on a flight and losing it because of the visa being refused.

Thanks again for all your help :)

Hi garugaga,

My wife was approved a multiple entry TRV for life of her passport while married to a Canadian and from a difficult country to get TRVs from: Vietnam. I can provide you my thoughts:

-Proof of relationship, just show about 10 pics of you guys together. Don't have to go too much in depth with that, since you're just dating. My wife and I showed 10 pics + marriage certificate, and that's it.
-DO NOT wire her any money to her account! You may think this will help her but actually it will not. She has to show her own funds, and her funds alone. Should not borrow any money from anyone. CIC routinely refuses applications where sudden large deposits are made into a bank account. Best thing is for her to save up money on her own until she has enough to come here.
-Not having travel history will hurt her chances, not much you can do here, best thing is to handwrite (not type) a letter to CIC explaining that despite her lack of history, she will not overstay or marry in Canada and will return home before the visa expires
-Yes a letter from her mom would do the trick, as well as showing her bank account making withdrawals
-Don't need to book a flight or buy any tickets, just need an online itinerary showing the planned travel dates. Just do it through Expedia.com, very easy.
-One thing to note is because you guys are just boyfriend/girlfriend, you should inform CIC that you do not plan to marry in Canada to file an inland application. Just say she just wants to visit, spend time with you, and will leave.
-For your purpose of visit, make sure you are extremely detailed as to what you guys plan to do each day you're in Canada. Give dates/times, where you will go, where will you stay, how much will cost, how will you get there, what hotel will you book, what sights/attractions will you see? etc.

Things I notice that work in your favor are:

-asking for only 12 days visit
-no family in Canada except you, rest back home
-has full time job, supports family

Hey Mikeymyke, thanks for the reply

I already used your sample invitation letter to base mine of off so I should thank you for that too!

I already wired the money which is too bad. I hate how imprecise the visa process is, I've read some places that it's fine to wire the money. I think it will look more suspicious if I get her to wire it back to me. The money is not only for the visa, it is also in case of an emergency if she needs some extra money. I will talk about that in the letter and also stress that the money is in an account in her name only so I have no legal claim to it.

I'm making an itinerary, I have hotels booked and will include the booking confirmation pages with the hotels phone number like you did in your invitation letter.
