Several cases moved from London VO to Abu Dhabi VO

Hi guys, August 2023 applicant here. I got to know yesterday that my case moved from London visa office to Abu Dhabi Visa Office, through GCMS notes. Others in WhatsApp groups have observed the same when the contacted IRCC. Anyone else on here who had the same happen?

Has anyone whose visa office moved experienced any progress at all? There's no predicting Abu Dhabi Visa Office at all so any insights would be super helpful.

Files are routinely redistributed when one office is under stress and the other one has more capacity.

How often does Abu Dhabi get reassigned spousal sponsorship cases? I'm trying to find threads to find a pattern for how quickly they process those cases and can't seem to find anything.

It's infrequent that they move a bunch of files at once from one office to another. It happens when they've identified capacity - possibly because of moving other responsibilities and programs between other offices, freeing up staff.

So the point is: whatever info you may discover about patterns before they make a wholesale change like this (if that's what it is) may not be indicative of what will happen with yours.

BUT: if they moved a bunch of files at once, it's probably to unblock a logjam.

Can anyone guide about ordering GCMS notes? I'm trying the following link:

There is no option of Family Sponsorship in the application type drop down menu. It has Permanent Residence and Other that I think applies to Spousal sponsorship, but which one to choose? And the next question "Is your spouse or common law partner included in the application?(Required)". Should we select YES because I'm part of the application as a sponsor?

You can apply here direct on the Canadian government's site (it's known as an ATIP request there, for the gcms notes):

I believe if the person requesting is a PR or citizen it's either free or $5. The site you have above will charge extra - nothing wrong with that if you find their service useful or easier.

Yes, you are requesting for a permanent resident application (that's what a family sponsorship is). I believe the correct answer is spouse involved, yes, but you'll have to figure it out.
