LANDED..........
06/18/2011
I landed in June and now am ready to move permanently - I returned to the US moments after landing to try to sell our home.
My husband (Canadian citizen / prior GC holder) moved back 9/1 and brought one of our vehicles and a few goods.
When we cross (the 4 of us, husband, myself and our two kids (Canadian thru Dad), Dad in Uhaul and kids & I in our other vehicle with cat does it matter who goes first?
I know had there been anyone else on the application, I would have had to have landed first, but I have already landed.
Also, do you tell the IO you have a cat bringing you are bringing as well? Do they inspect the cat?
I have his rabies certificate and understood this to be all needed, correct?

Thanks!

1. It doesn't really matter.
2. They may inspect the car. Yes you have to tell the IO that you are importing a cat. See: http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/anima/imp/petani/felin2e.shtml There is a fee of $30 for the inspection.

Thank you kindly PMM, much appreciated.

If only it was as easy to get our spouses into Canada as the cat... just make sure he/she has all their shots up to date and WELCOME!
