Newbie here :) Hope to be enlightened and share experience and knowledge too.

Applied under FSW with Arranged Employment (AEO)

My status and timeline :

Category........: FSW
Visa Office......: Manila
NOC Code......: 0611
App AEO ………: 16 Dec 2010 (by employer)
AEO Apprved..: 17 Jun 2011 (by employer)
App. sent.......: 28 Oct 2011
AOR .............: 04 Nov 2011
File Transfer...: 08 Feb 2012
Addtl Docs …..: 03 Apr 2012
Med's Request: 09 May 2012
Med's Done....: 29 May 2012
Interview........: ???
Passport Req..: waiting
VISA ISSUED...: hoping
LANDED..........: praying

Now my question?

I am aware that application with AEO does not require Proof of Funds, however, when I got my Medical Request form, I read this in the notes.

IMPORTANT: In your signed application for permanent residence, you indicated funds that you will bring to Canada for settlement purposes. At any time before the finalization of your application or before your landing in Canada, you may be required to demostrate that these funds remain readily available for transfer or use in Canada. Failure to satisfy this requirement could result in the refusal if your being granted permanent residence in Canada.

Are they referring to Proof of Funds which I am not required to provide based on my category? I remember indicating in the assets certain amount of funds in the form of bank statement in my application. Are they gonna ask me to demostrate also that these funds remain intact? What if not?
Do I really have to start establishing that amount in my bank account for a period of time? Or is it okay to provide one not showing bank history?

I just want to make sure I wont encounter problem when Im asked to demostrate and dont want to miss my chance.

Your advise will be highly appreciated.

I will be applying under NOC 1122 in July 2012 intake.
I am a joint account holder in a bank account with my parents. The amount of money in that account is more than what cic wants. I am the 3rd applicant in that account. The statement of the previous 5 months shows my name.

Would the bank statement suffice? or should I have my own account statement where I am the principal account holder ?

Please advise.

In terms of funds required, the number of the applicant's family members includes both accompanying and non-accompanying dependants.

Acceptable proof of funds are:
-bank accounts in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
-cashable investments in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
-cashable fixed deposits in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
-property valuations of property which is unencumbered by debt in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner.

Not acceptable are:
-bank accounts in someone else's name;
-bank accounts which are joint in your name and someone else (other than your accompanying spouse/common-law partner);
-bank accounts in the name of your spouse who is not accompanying you to Canada;
-vehicle valuations;
-jewellery valuations.

Based on above points, its better you have an account where you are the principal account holder :)

Are your views about my case the same?

Should I not worry keeping the funds in my bank acct intact since Im under AEO and POF isnt applicable with me.
