Hello Friends,

Good day!

In order to show the requisite amount towards settlement Funds we had saved the money in my Spouse's bank account. Is it acceptable by CIC as per the EE and OINP regulations to show the amount in my spouse's account, though I am the primary applicant and she is contributing to the CRS points as a spouse?

Thank you

Thanks AnnaBG

Friends, I have transferred the amount towards the Settlement funds to my account a month ago, from my Spouse's account. Do I need to have a document like a 'Gift deed/certificate' from her stating that she has given me the amount as a gift?

My spouse is shown as a dependant in my profile and will be travelling with me.

Yes, you can attach a gift deed or an affidavit from your wife.
You should also attach bank statement of your wife showing the source of funds in your wife's account.
In addition explain all this in LOE.

Minor correction.

Gift deed/affidavit isn't necessary. A signed self declaration explicitly mentioning that this transfer is a gift not a loan would suffice. Of course signed by the donor and dated on/close to the date of actual fund transfer.

Hi - are you guys sure that account should only belongs to primary applicant or joint account. In my case i am showing my and my spouse account statememts. More one account which belongs to my spouse has different last name for her. Because this account opened before marriage and she is still operating that account.

In name history i have mention both the names for her and have also attached affidavit for same stating both the names belong to same person.

Do you think this would create problem?

Experts pls answer.
Settlement fund can either be in the Principal applicant's name or spouse name or combination of the two. All these are acceptable by CIC

I think it should be in PA account only (or) may be a joint account were PA is the main account holder.

A self declaration from spouse should suffice.

Not sure though.
