Dilbert, thank u for the reply bt it is alryt to provide that letter for a student.visa application. Bt for FSW its a mandate to.show that the funds are entirely urs and not borrowed and not payable to anyone... it shud b under ur name and not even ur father mother...thats the concern

Actually Dilbert is right.

CIC doesn't want your POF to be encumbered. So if there is a letter stating that the funds were gifted to you and do not need to be returned (hence it's not a loan) is sufficient.

Just format a straightforward "To whomsoever it may concern" letter which establishes your relationship with the donor and mentions the transaction detail (amount, wire transfer ref no, date, bank account details etc) and also mentions that this transaction is NOT a loan but a gift which need not be returned to the donor. This letter signed, in original, by the donor should be sufficient for all practical purposes.

All the best!

And any proof to b submitted to prove my relationshp with the donor..or any proof requiring his national identity or anything ? or just a simple letter wud b fine with a signature

If it is your parent, no further proof is necessary since that would be covered somewhere in your identity documents and your family details section.

And each of those past 6 months has to meet the minimum level of funds or exceed it.

Is this true? Each of the past 6 month final balance must exceed the LICO minimum? If that's the case then I'm scr**d

I'm already in Ontario, does that change anything?

Anyone knows if it would be ok if i just transfer the money from my line of credit to my chequing account? i have been living in ontario for 7 years now and working here full time too but currently my job is not in NOC O,A or B and no LMIA as well..so arranged employment might not work but im making enough money for a living in ontario.any suggestions anyone

You do not have to show that you have these funds if:

you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.

Hi Everyone,

For proof of funds can I provide bank statements in my Spouse name, if he is accompanying me?
