Setting up your company in Canada to work for US employer

Hello All,

Could anyone guide me on the process of setting up a company so that i could work my US employer as a Canadian Contractor i think?
My company has agreed to let me work from Canada but they will not open an office there. Since the staffing companies take a big cut, they have said that setting up my own company might be a better alternative.

Can you clarify if you are already a permanent resident of Canada?
