I am CEC inland applicant, and I am still waiting for ppr.

Here is my timeline:

AOR: Sep 20th
MEP: Oct 4th
IP1: Oct 4th
NA2: don't know maybe around Oct 20th
ADR: Dec 21st (submitted on same day)
after they required me the additional document, my BG changed to IP1 wording again.
PPR: waiting

I am so worried about my application since many Sep aors got ppr on Dec.Also, I don't know why my BG changed back to IP1 again. There is no any update since I submitted the additional document. Does anyone have any ideas about my application? Big appreciation!

You are in NA2 .. which comes after MEP and IP1 . Post this , you will be in IP2 where your Background check will change to " We are processing your background check. we will send you a message if we need more information.“. And within 10 days of that you will get your PPR mail .

What I read somewhere was you need to notify CIC of the new passport as soon as you have it via CSE.

Then you can submit the new one for PPR.
On 17th Jan, my background check status changed from "Not Application" to "We are processing..."
I guess it is now in IP2 stage. Waiting for PPR...

Secondly, my wife's passport is expiring in this August. How should I do with this? Should I wait for the PR approval and then apply for a passport renewal? Can someone advise on this please?

Thirdly, once we get PR, can we withdraw money from the fund that we are showing as "Proof of Settlement Fund'?
I got my PPR yesterday (22/01/2017).

AOR: 1 Sep 2017
Medical Pass: 30 Sep 2017
IP2: 17 Jan 2017
PPR: 22 Jan 2017

Thanks everybody for all the support and guidance. You guys are really great!!! Spending so much time for others without any returns in a selfless way!!

I got my PPR yesterday (22/01/2018). It says the passport should be valid for at least 6 months.
My spouse passport is expiring on 05/Aug/2018. Since it is just more than 6 months, I am planning to submit this passport. Our medical test happened in Aug 2017. So, our visa stamping would also expire by Aug 2018. So, it does not make much difference in terms of the visa time duration.

I am not planning for a short landing. We are planning to go there and stay long. Suppose, we plan to reach there around June, 2018, can we first renew the passport and then apply for the PR card since it takes 90-120 days of processing time. Otherwise, by the time we get the PR card, the passport would have expired.

Please advise how should I go forward. Is there any risk in submitting the existing passport which is expiring on 5th Aug 2018? I am thinking of doing the submission tomorrow itself.

Suppose, I wish to renew my passport first and then do the submission, what is the process around that? How do I intimate CIC about this? Is there a form I have to submit? Or is it enough if I simply submit the 2 passports (old and new) along with a covering letter?

Congrats on your PPR!

My spouse's passport also expires Jul 18th & we are awaiting the issuance of a new one this week.

Our medical expires by July 27th as well. Hence, PPR of Jan 19th seemed to have been well timed!

Since you're planning to stay long, I'd advise you consider renewing the passport before landing in Canada (possibly after obtaining CoPR). I don't see the risk of submitting a passport with Aug 5th expiry provided you do so BEFORE Feb 5th. Hence, you've got about 11 days from tomorrow. Hurry!!!

Alternatively, if you choose to renew before submission, you would need to notify IRCC (via the Case Specific Enquiry or CSE portal) by uploading a scanned copy of the new passport (along with the old/expiring one) with an LoE explaining the need for same. I am not aware of any other option.

Good luck!

A few questions please.

In your PPR, was there an accompanying form for "height and eye colour chart" (as it was in my case) or you already got an ADR for that prior to the PPR? I am considering uploading the form via CSE and also mailing a copy along with the passport for the CoPR.

Also, if there has been no change in the composition of your family, are you still required to fill out the IMM008 form or not?

If I renew the passport after getting CoPR and before travelling, the visa stamping will be on my old passport which would be marked expired once the new one is issued. So, will there be any problem during the immigration at the airport? I am planning to submit the passport at VFS, Pune tomorrow itself.

Do any airlines demand that the passport should have at least 6 months validity while booking the ticket?

Coming to your questions:

In my PPR, there was NO form for "height and eye colour chart". Neither did I submit this before. I never got an ADR throughout the process. There is no mention of filling the IMM008 form in my passport request. If you give your email id, I can forward my PPR to you.

Based on my experience with previous visas, it shouldn't be a problem provided you always carry both subsequently. But if you think you can secure the new passport on time to meet the 15 day deadline (I hope it's same as yours?) for the PPR, then please go ahead and renew.

I can't say much about airlines but I believe the 6-month thing is more of a concern for Immigration officials especially at the destination terminal.

Thanks. It's interesting to know you had a different experience there.

My email address is akhehicols@yahoo.com ... would share my PPR as well.

Hello all,

This is what they say about this subject on the PPR letter:
"If the validity of your passport or the passport of any accompanying family member expires before this date, your visa will expire at this earlier date. If it is the case, that person may wish to apply for a new passport. Please note that you must travel to Canada within the validity of your visa."

So, I understand in that case, that the person should renew the passport before sending it, and notify about the change to the LVO.

Regards.

Thanks. That is my understanding as well which is why I've initiated a passport renewal.

How do I notify LVO? Through CSE or email?

My PPR came same day when background check changed to processing. It was stuck at not needed at his time for 3 months before that.

If it's not a "do not reply" email address, then I would email them directly.
But if there's a VIP service for the renewal of the passport, I would pay it if I were you, so that everything could be done in the 15 day period.
