I found it weird but managed to link application after using 2 members on application.
There’s quite a few hundred spousal sponsorship cases for both inland and outland in this tracker https://myimmitracker.com/en/ca/trackers/consolidated-spousal-sponsorship-tracker. You can check how long it takes to get to AOR and all the steps after as well! Looks like AOR takes around a month or so for most people

Because my husband is a US citizen, he can apply for OWP at port of entry.
We were having a date over the weekend to the US, then we applied when we were on the way back.
kind of similar with flagpole, just without denying entry to the US (which won’t happen to us lol)
I thought we are supposed to sign imm5532 digitally? IRCC wants hand signature now?

The form was digitally signed. I resubmitted the form as is the second time. We only update the signature data.
I think they want hand digitally sign? For us I printed as a PDF format and insert our signatures on it. Not sure what they really want.
Your bf is a US citizen right? He can apply at the border for his OWP. Checkout my answer earlier in the same thread.
