Yeah not like right after you receive your Canadian passport you have to immediately surrender your passport but yes you have to start the process as soon you can. After your Canadian passport , I think if you use your Indian passport to travel then there is some fine that you pay to Indian embassy. There is a chart on their website that you can check to see what the fines look like. This is the link-At this point in time, it seems like a double edged sword to get citizenship for me because my Indian passport will not be usable after the oath. Please correct me if I am wrong, but we have to renounce our Indian passport as soon as we take the Oath?
Wondering if anyone would know the timeline for oath ceremony->certificate received->Canadian passport processing time (till you receive it) without taking into consideration the ongoing strike. Also, wondering how the strike would affect the post oath to passport timeline as well.
P.S. I have not yet received the oath, nor have received any further update since the GU of March 2nd. But, had travel scheduled in upcoming months, which I am contemplating about now

Given the strike everything is going to be delayed my friend. One of known went to renew his passport today and unfortunately he was sent back stating they only accepting emergency and humanitarian reasons for passport request in office. Rest all apply online.
