I believe that in most cases Ecas will show "application received" till your background check is in progress and it will then turn to "in process" when BG check is completed and file gets sent from Sydney to local offices. That isn't always the case for everyone though which makes it confusing to say the least.
That is news to me that Sydney office does the BG. I though they just validate the application and then send it over to the local office for rest of the processing. I honestly stopped checking my trackers since I got the AOR. I will login the day I get an email from them

Check atleast once a week. You don't want to miss the test update on the tracker and no email for that. Happens in some cases.

Hi guys, I am a September 2022 applicant and I received my AOR on September 12 . However, I have only been able to see the status of my application on the tracker but my application does not come up on ecas. Please does anyone know the reason why application shows on tracker and not coming up on ecas?

If you applied online you won't be able to see status on ECAS

Anxiously waiting for test invite here and trying to study Discover Canada. Does anyone know how the local office gets assigned? Is it the closest one to your address? Or just the most available one at the time? I live somewhere kinda rural and was wondering where we'll end up.

What's your current location? Generally its near home and if it's overloaded something within the province.
