Thank you again so much.
I should ask them about the application number and when will I get the AOR or something else?
Ask them the status of your application, your application number and confirm your address and email details. Also ask if the AOR is generated and if it was sent out.

Does anyone feel that we will not be able to get our test requests until December?
I don't. I'm optimistic (and still stand by what I said earlier) - it is likely that we see increased volumes of test invites probably sometime in the second quarter of this year. Applicants with routine applications should see their test invites by the end of 3rd quarter or beginning of the 4th quarter.

Routine = No fingerprint request, No additional document requests.

A quick question, in which stage it will determine that the application is routine or not? Does having the application sent from Sydney to the local office mean it’s done with routine/non-routine thing ?

Nope - IP is only the beginning of the process. This is done over several stages from what I know. If the BG checks show some name match with an individual in any of the criminal databases they check OR if there is a name / DOB match etc, they request finger prints and probably initiate further checks. Having a common name is actually a disadvantage here as per some discussions on the forum and I tend to agree. The more common your name is, the more likely it is to end up in a situation with a name match).

Also, if they have any doubts about your residency in Canada, you might get an additional documents request requesting a bunch of documents (Document template is in my signature).

Pretty much in the same situation i.e. ECAS shows one line - We received your application on...

I did call IRCC initially on Jan 8, 2021, and got the Application number. There has been no progress since then.

I called back today to ask for an update and was told that they are still working on printing my AOR. I asked about my preferred communication method and was told that it is mail. She was not able to update it online and asked me to use the webform to do that. I have already done that a couple of weeks ago, with no response back from them.

She then sent me a (somewhat redundant) email that contained:
- Information on how to update information using the webform
- The links to the study guide for the Citizenship Test
- A link to check my status online (i.e. ECAS)

On the question of whether you have sufficient information to link your application to your IRCC account: this is not possible as only Proof of Citizenship and Search of Citizenship applications can be linked to an IRCC account. We are applying for a Grant of Citizenship. This can only be tracked through ECAS.

I just got this response from IRCC in response to a Web Form enquiry I made earlier in Jan. Thought it would be nice to share here.

Note that I still haven't got my AOR (mail or email), nor does my ECAS status show In Process - just application received.

The email was sent by CE CSC Do Not Reply / Ne Pas Repondre CSC EC (IRCC) <IRCC.CECSCDoNotReply-NePasRepondreCSCEC.IRCC@cic.gc.ca>

Emphasis in the message below is mine.

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.

All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment.

Due to the ongoing situation related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), some IRCC offices are currently operating with reduced or critical staff only.

We are working on processing applications as quickly as possible; however, processing times are affected and any disruption caused by COVID-19 is not reflected accurately on our website. We will make all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible.

Rest assured that you will be informed as soon as a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

We would also like to suggest the following online services that might be helpful to you with any immigration, refugee and/or citizenship future requests:

Thanks for the details.

But this would not speed the AOR sending process right? It's just another way of getting to know about application status which CIC agent cannot provide ?

I am in your situation too, have the file number but no AOR yet.

I will call CIC call centre next week and get some update.

Cheers!

I don't think it will speed up the AOR sending process. I have seen one response where the AOR step was skipped entirely and they got an In process status directly after the We received your application... line. (I commented on that in one of my earlier posts)

The point is that we should not be too worried about the steps in this current situation, but wait for communication from IRCC like the one I requested and got. At least we will know that our applications are progressing and are not sitting in a stagnant heap somewhere in Sydney, NS.

Let's just wait and see, but keep following up with IRCC via phone and Webform in reasonable time frames.

Good luck to everyone.
