Can someone please help me understand the GCMS notes we got. What does 'Info Sharing: In Progress' mean here? Is that the thing blocking Security and Criminality? Based on the summary and notes at the end, can it be conclusively said that eligibility is passed?

ASSESSMENTS
Eligibility: Passed
Security: Not Started
HIRV:
Criminality: Not Started
Org Crime:
Medical: Passed
Misrepresentation:
Info Sharing: In Progress
Other Reqs:
Final:

Also, notes at the end says :
'Having analyized this application based on the documents submitted by the applicant and the information contained in the file, I make the following recommendation.
A11.2: Met R75: FSW MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Met R75: SELECTION CRITERIA - FSW POINTS: APPEARS TO MEET R76: SELECTION CRITERIA - FUNDS: APPEARS TO MEET FSW points total: 72 Ready to Finalize RPRF: Complete
In the Assessments section it says that Eligibility has passed, so yes it has passed conclusively.
No, eligibility is not conclusively passed according to the notes shared. That note is by Case Analyst not the officer.

I thought only the officer had the authority to mark the Eligibility as 'Passed'. Without the officer's approval, the notes wouldn't have shown Eligibility as Passed.

Information (info) sharing is part of Background check (BGC). As the name suggests, information is shared with Canada’s partner agencies and countries in the Five Eyes alliance. The Five Eyes is an intelligence alliance composed of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. For those who have previously applied (whether the visa was approved or not) with any of Canada’s partner countries in the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, Info sharing will most probably take place. Did you at any point apply for a visa with any of the above countries?

In the Assessments section it says that Eligibility has passed, so yes it has passed conclusively.
Hi, what if someone applied for tourist visa for USA back in 2005 and was rejected. Will this be a problem?

I guess the progress is very slowly for CEC applicants
It would make sense for outland applications to be processed quicker so that they can fly and enter Canada. Inland applicants are already there and fulfilling immigration needs. It won't make much of a difference if inland applicants get PR earlier or later. Just my opinion. No hate please. :)

Anyone from Sep AOR still under IP1? It seems they have not started my background check.
Do you think i should continue patiently waiting (in theory 6month processing time due March 2021)? or shall I call IRCC?

I rang them yesterday and was told that my Criminality is in progress but Eligibility and Security has not yet started. (AOR Sept 05)

I'd give it another month and then call them maybe..

I agree with you on that, the only thing that is wrong at the moment is the fact that cic refused to further process inland principal applicant with Outland dependants, my sentiment will be that those should be prioritized especially at this difficult time

Thanks for your reply. Yes, we were living in USA for last 7 years as an H1B. I just moved to Canada a couple days ago on a work permit while my PR application is still pending. Do you know what is the usual time it takes for info sharing to be done?

Thanks for your reply. How did you spot that this is by case analyst and not by officer? What makes the eligibility conclusively passed? When security and criminality is passed?

What's your AOR? FSW-Outland? or CEC/PNP ?

@legalfalcon

Below is the response of my webform request (response after 1 month) - looking at 2nd point, is it default status or does it mean eligibility review started ?
  1. Your application is currently being processed at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
  2. The responsible office is currently verifying if your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied, you may be contacted via your account if additional information is needed.
  3. The security background verification has not been initiated.
  4. The criminal background verification is in process.
  5. The background verifications are in process.

Hi,

For me it's also same kind of status.

We verified the information on file and can confirm that:

  • The responsible office is currently verifying if your application meets the eligibility requirementsunder the immigration program for which you have applied,
    • you may be contacted via your account if additional information is needed.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification is in process.

In addition, we can confirm that your application is currently at the IRCC local office in Vancouver, British Columbia, for processing.

Not sure whether the Eligibility is in progress or just a typical response.
