When it starts, do you get an update on GCKey? Do you get an email? Does it show in your profile what day it started?

You don't get any email for BGC. It is only a ghost update on CIC account and no date is mentioned for BGC start. Just that 'we are processing your background check'.

Thanks. So basically you gotta check every day to know when it started or when there’s a ghost update?

Yes, you will have to check it daily to know the date. But it doesn't matter much to know the exact date when your bgc starts as long as it starts when it should lol. It generally starts around the days when your medicals are being reviewed/passed.

I wish it was the case... medical passed last month and no bgc started.

Hi guys,

I did my medicals jan 18. When they will update it on my account ?
Thanks!!

It depends on how long it takes the doctor to send your medical results. Usually between 5 and 10 days.

I had my medical on Jan 13th and it showed I passed the medical today, Jan 22nd (9days)

FYI, medical exam passed yesterday, January 22nd. Background check started processing same day. 15 total days (11 business days) for my meds to be passed. Also sent a bunch of documents to confirm our new address via webform, hopefully that won't slow anything down.

I've been waiting to see any update regarding my medical performed on Jan 7. After the 7 to 10 business days they specified, I called the Panel Physician on Jan 22. They told me they hadn't yet submitted my results because they were busy.:(

I guess they don't understand how important this stuff is to us. An hour after speaking to them, I received an email that it had been submitted. I wonder what would have happened if I hand't called.

My understanding is that generally speaking, if you have DONE the medicals within the 30 days from the time you have requested them, you have fulfilled your requirements and the onus is on the physician to send them to IRCC. Of course if for some reason it got delayed that far, I can certainly see that being an issue, so probably smart to call!

I think a lot of places avoid sending them "early" lol. It's the nature of things to procrastinate, as I think we've all seen, ahaha

Hi medical exam passed, 21st of January, background check says it's not applicable?? Is that means that we move to the next level??
