True - thats another challenge in transit zones. Hence I was leaning more towards driving into Canada, staying in a hotel for a night, complete the test and get back to US (via land only).

Unsure if Canada will allow a less than mandatory quarantine stay
And if US is okay accepting us back on a worker's VISA.

These "if"s are hurting my head now :)
I suggest you try calling the IRCC or send a message via webform. You will have a definite answer from the IRCC. You have 20 something days for the test window. Please keep in mind, this forum is not for legal advises. And in your case, you definitely need legal opinions.

If your line of work allows you to connect remotely. Then make it a 2 week stay in Canada.
Drive/Fly in, Give your test, complete your quarantine and then return to US.
I agree that this way will end up costing you more. But, at least it is not a shortcut and keeps you clear of being in a limbo.

All the best.

Yes should be ok. But in case you get an exam invite, you have to take the exam while being in Canada.
Fingerprints are not mandatory and is not applicable for every applicant. You can go from TEST to Decision Made, without the need for Fingerprint.
Unless this was requested earlier and it has expired after the one year period.

Driving in , you would have still quarantine for 14 days. and that is evidence you need to provide at border crossing, that you would will be in quarantine for the period of 14 days. You can only go back and forth, if you are fall in the category, where you are worker that crosses the border everyday for work.

my webcam was on all the time (integrated webcam), but my wife was telling that it was green box in the preview on the lower left end. not sure, what the problem is.. i took from office laptop, not sure, whether they have blocked streaming (or) was there any issue with the software.
Did you use a separate webcam with usb?

Hi All,

Not sure what is going on.
We got the test invite on Jan 28th from Mississauga office. I took the test on Feb 6th and my husband took it on Feb 14th. I received an email on the 8th asking for a clearer copy of ID document. I sent it immediately. No update after that. I checked IRCC now and my husband's application status shows Decision Made. No email communication received regarding change in status. For me and my son it still says In Process. Has anyone had this before? Or in the similar situation?

@Nithya_Arun it's common for child status to be in process. However, your must be taking a few days longer, as ID was asked. If you did receive a mail from Mississauga office, mail them stating the test were completed and the ID was resubmitted. This will work and they should move to next stage unless something else is required. And they are pretty fast at responding.
