Thomas1987 said that he put that about soon-to-be losing his home country citizenship in a cover letter. I guess in a way, that impressed the CIC office? It’s like .. “oh he loves Canada so much and and he’s willing to let go of his home country citizenship”. Just a thought but it’s possible .

The biggest immigrant groups are from India and China and both don't allow dual citizenship. So doubt that argument will work. The only time urgent processing seems to work is when it is a highly skilled worker who needs a citizenship for the job and the employer is willing to write a recommendation that they couldn't find a citizen with necessary qualifications.

True

Could you please update the spreadsheet? (I am a Vancouver applicant)
Passed test 20/20 on March 26th.
The date my application is approved: April 3rd (They had asked me to provide a translation for stamps in my passports after passing the test, and I handed it on April 1st.)
Received a notice on April 23, 2019 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on May 9.

Hi people, so we had the citizenship ceremony on Friday in Winnipeg. 86 people from 17 different countries got citizenship in our ceremony. We listened to heartfelt speeches by people who said what citizenship meant to them. It was quite moving.
Checked e-cas on saturday, and status is COMPLETE. Thank you everyone for being with us on this citizenship journey. For those awaiting one update or another, I pray it comes swiftly, and not tarry.

Good morning,

Is there a way for us to contact the Montreal Office? I took my exam last Feb.20,2019 and ny ecas changed to decision made that same day. Until now I have not received an Invite for the Oath taking ceremony. I have some common friends who took the exam here in Montreal last march and april and had their oath taking ceremong last week. I'm a lil bit worried though..

That's fine and okay , dont worry, i took my exam feb 15, and no oath yet... just relax..

Mine was not an urgent processing. My cover letter included the status of my home country and my passport was very close to expiry and also a personal reason, which I cannot disclose.

Thanks...

Stuck here too, pass the test en of February, ecas decision made the same day, and no more new since.
I ask them through the web form but I got a basic answer of 'processing time is less than 12 months, just wait'.
Hard to plan some travel this summer with oath and maybe new passport to get 'quickly'.

We got an email!! We have a date!! June 20 in Calgary! Finally the finish line is in sight!! :)

Congrats again and enjoy your new status.

Of course no need to disclose details on your application. I had a feeling with some folks who get oath quickly, it is because CIC sees their country of origin and wants to get them done sooner.

You guys will get it soon. CIC in Montreal is working very hard I would say, because we have 350 applicants for the morning session (I felt thats a lot) and then there was an afternoon session too on May 3rd.
We just have 5-10 % applicants on this forum, who are active and provide updates.

Hope this helps!

Thanks again. I am expecting my oath around July which would be 5 months after my test in Feb. I am keeping myself busy learning French. The cashier at the supermarket next to my house says I am getting better so that's good news.
