Border agents are not supposed to take it from you. They are supposed to return it to you after stamping.I have Oath ceremony next week , But My COPR is not with me . Is it ok ?
I remembered my CoPR has taken by officer at Border security during stamping for PR .
Please advice . Thank you .
the border agent also took ours when we landed. is it essential for oath?Border agents are not supposed to take it from you. They are supposed to return it to you after stamping.
It is essential for later. You are required to show it when you apply for certain benefits (I guess after retirement). A relative of mine said that you will take your CoPR to your grave. Means you will need it quite a bit later. I am not sure if there is a procedure to obtain a copy if you lose it or if it's stolen.the border agent also took ours when we landed. is it essential for oath?

You can obtain a copy of your landed papers. Search on Cic website. Last time I checked, it took “6 months” to get a copy like that .It is essential for later.
