How do you guys make to call to agent? I'm in canada, which operates 8-4 local time, I dialed exactly at 8am and they are saying we are processing hight volume...thus can't connect you to...

any one advice?
Try again , if they say the same try again , and again and become one of the ' high volume'

I am currently one among the "high volume" :) waiting in call Q for past 20 minutes after my 5'th try .
All the best .

SEP 5 AOR
Ip2 since Nov 30 .
CEC inland .

My passport is expiring in 5 months from now . When i submit my application i had 8 + month validity .
Should i do renew my passport now ? Or i shall do it only if they ask me to do so ?

Since its already moved to IP2 , is there any chance they will still do ADR for this purpose ?

My only concern is i do not want to create new delay by renewing passport and rising CSE unless they put ADR .

I finally got connected after ~ 45 minutes of wait time .

AOR - sep 5
CEC inland
IP2 since Nov 30 .
Nationality - India

I called just to hear progress from them .

An agent picked my call and she mentioned that my file is in Ottawa VO since sep end (After medical ) . She told me that my background is in progress and security hasn't started .

Unlike what i read from this thread , She was very polite and kind in responding to queries and welcoming my doubts .
she even mentioned to me these words "Please do not think of it sir , the more you think of it the more u will stressed out " . Compared to the process of past you are more lucky . I do not see any notes which could possibly delay your application and all you have to do is wait with patience " She added that the file progress will depend on how soon the security gets complete .

Btw , Any idea how security could take ? I haven't travel to any country other than canada .

When did you move to IP2. I know someone who received an ADR for submitting a new passport today. He too had a couple of months for its expiry. I think you should make a new one. It hardly takes 2 weeks. Can then raise a CSE and update in case you dont happen to get an ADR.

Thanks for the response !
Mine went to Ip2 at Nov 30 ( i had 5.5 months passport validity at that time) .
Reg one of the case you mentioned for reference ,he has only two months validity which i assume is before the case processing dead line . if i have only couple of months then i wouldn't wait to renew , because it will expire before the mentioned processing time . :) .
if i apply for new passport , I believe my current passport will be cancelled the moment i applied for new passport and i will have to rise CSE and my case will be hold for approx 2 weeks until i submit my new passport . Wouldn't this create further delay in the processing having said I/we already felt delayed .
My concern as i asked already , should i renew by volunteer & accept the delay or renew only if they ask me to ?

Thats what I replied. Renew it coz you'll eventually be asked to renew it. And in both cases you will have to wait for 2 weeks. Still if you think you want to wait, then that is also an option. Both works, you need to decide.

99% of the calls are "oh my application is being processed more than 2 months" or "I urgently need to take a vacation". Seriously, people should be a bit more considerate, ugh...

Wao! Good to hear that you were able to speak to a polite agent. Did she mention if your eligibility has started?

It's been a really dry day on this thread. I quickly scanned through July and Aug threads and no PPRs today *phew*. Tomorrow is another day!

I have now completed the assessment of your application for a permanent resident visa as a skilled worker. I have determined that you do not meet the requirements for immigration to Canada.

Subsection 75(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations states that a foreign national is a skilled worker if:

a) within ten years preceding the date of their application for a permanent resident visa, they have at least one year of continuous full-time employment (37.5 hours/week) experience, or the equivalent in continuous part-time employment in one or more occupations, other than a restricted occupation, that are listed in Skill Type 0 Management Occupations or Skill Levels A or B of the National Occupational Classification matrix;

b) during that period of employment they performed the actions described in the lead statement for the occupation as set out in the occupational descriptions of the National Occupational Classification; and

c) during that period of employment they performed a substantial number of the main duties of the occupation as set out in the occupational descriptions of the National Occupational Classification, including all of the essential duties.

I am not satisfied that you meet these requirements. Your period of work experience as a Research Assistant (NOC 4012) at the University do not meet the requirements of b) above as the letter of reference you submitted lists duties that do not match the actions of the lead statement under the NOC code you selected. Therefore, you failed to demonstrate that your periods of work experience met the requirements listed above.
Subsection 75
(3) states that if a foreign national fails to meet these requirements, the application shall be refused and no further assessment is required. I am not satisfied that you meet these requirements.

Subsection 11(1) of the Act states that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or for any other document required by the regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act. Subsection 2(2) specifies that unless otherwise indicated, references in the Act to “this Act” include regulations made under it.

Sorry to hear this! Please Please could you share the duties you used. I used the same NOC. o_O

guys i have some bad news, i just got my application rejected after more than 100 days waiting.
People who don't have any status move since MEP expect to be rejected soon. IRCC is becoming much and much more strict.
Oh man that sucks :( Didn't expect they would be this strict :( You applying from Canada or outside? What's your profile
