Really?
Thanks to my notes I learned that I had RR for POF and the reason why. Based on that I submitted an updated POF proactively.
I think ordering notes has been useful to a bunch of people here. Not useful to all of us for sure but far from completely useless I would think.
May I know the reason why you had RR for Funds? Same situation here.

There is no old timeline or new timeline when it comes to SS.
SS goes way deeper than just comparing your biometrics with international databases. That's at simple "Criminality" stage, among other things.

SS implies digging through all your potential connections with any suspicious activity.
For example, if you've been working in a company known for money laundering or fraud, you'd most likely fall into SS and be looked into to make sure you were not involved, and no amount of crystal clear biometrics will make it go any faster.
Another example is suspicion of misrepresentation. Contacts happen between different relevant authorities, and that can take a lot of time.

Yes, biometrics can be helpful to differentiate you with someone with the same name during the investigation and could make the process go faster than 6-12 months depending on the reason for SS, but it could also go much slower, as biometrics don't necessarily come into play in this phase.

Security screening is exactly what it means...

"Timeline not applicable for biometrics applicant"?... Everyone is subject to biometrics now.
SS takes a long time to clear... biometrics or not.
I am not saying it can’t be slower, but I am just talking about the majority of what people are reporting since implementation of biometrics system. You can believe it or not, doesn’t matter so far biometrics applicants are reporting faster processing. This goes to show that there is a difference. This is a positive development.I have read alot in depth about SS, believe me, but now i am just looking at the hard data basically what people are reporting i.e. biometrics applicants. That’s the pattern I am looking at and in the end that’s what matters nobody gives a flying eff about how SS is carried out. That is some deep BS nobody has the time to learn about because it is useless, one will say it is carried out like this other will say like this. Well i dont care all i need is my ppr and just trying to find on average whats the trend now a days based on black and white data. Aint nobody got time to run in circles in this deep mystery of SS.

Another thing is that it was well predicted before the implementation of biometrics that this probably will make SS process faster. Yes, that is right, Legalfalcon said so himself in this long post that he wrote about your beloved ‘SS’ process.

It makes sense and majority people are reporting positive change. Yes biometrics is applicable to all now. Isnt that a good thing?

Now I understand why you're saying this. You're obviously confusing "Security" stage, with "Security Screening".
Biometrics absolutely do shorten the "Security" stage, but unlikely to shorten "Security Screening", as the process is much much deeper in a way that biometrics would only help a tiny little. SS can go on for more than a year, and unlikely to be completed faster than 6 months...

And yes, legalfalcon did talk about this, but he actually talked about biometrics shortening "Security" stage. Not SS. Here you go:

https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/the-anatomy-of-a-background-check-in-depth-analysis.500146/page-113#post-7847993

"There is no set time frame. If your application is in enhanced security screening, then it is. long haul. 6 months to a year is very common."

Lol, SS is part of Security. end of story. People are only concerned about their status being changed to security passed, that’s all. What cic does behind the curtains is their job not ours, it is of no concern to me. They can do it however they like. I am only predicting as per current reportings from fellow biometrics applicants. I am a hard fact person. You can talk about SS all day, I have heard it all before. Dont matter to me. Don’t care. Only concern when my Security gets passed and what most biometrics applicants are reporting i have already told that. Even it is not my own data meaning i did not come up with it myself. Now this is a very important factor because i am not making it up. I am only passing the info of what other biometrics applicants are reporting. Which of course may change or not but what most applicants are saying its the truth its real its factual. You can take it however you want. In the end, it exists, it’s real.

It is my request to all Comprehensive SS Biometrics applicants to make sure they update their statuses in the future i.e. if they pass Security within 6 months or not. I will do the same. Although so far what people are reporting is that it is under 6 months, but this is an ongoing collection of research data, the more we collect the more weightage it will have. And we can all finally bury the ghost of never ending SS in the past (of course there always be some that will take longer). Yet Times are changing, we need to play our role. Good luck all.

Also it is high time we stop refering Comprehensive SS as SS. Everyone goes through SS, but not everyone goes through Comprehensive SS. The one those get stuck, get stuck in Comprehensive SS. Normal SS actually doesn’t take long.

Hello everyone,

after months of looking through forums and several phone calls, I have finally received the PR appointment letter!!!

Mine is on June 27th. Does anyone have any information on what to expect at the interview? I want to make sure it all goes smoothly.

Thanks so much!
Hello,

Can you please share your timelines? Are you Inland?

So now you want to invent names?
Look at any GCMS notes and the stages are clearly referred to separately as "Security" and "Security Screening".
"Security screening" IS NOT part of "Security", despite the same key word.
The processes have the same goal (i.e to ensure you're not a threat) but have different means and tools.
During the "Security" stage, they may or may not go deeper, and that's when they move you to another different stage "Security Screening" which is clearly marked in notes.

If your only concern is whether you pass your stages, then good for you, because you're not focusing on too many details.
But you want people to start using terms like SS and Comprehensive SS to supposedly make things clearer, but you'll only confuse them as the terms don't exist at all. You're just making them up now...

You want to base yourself on facts? Good, then you'll like what you'll hear:
Open any GCMS notes and see how the data is presented. Security and Security Screening are two distinct stages, everyone goes through "Security" but not everyone goes through "Security Screening". Cannot be any more official...

No amount of data you read and "analyze" will change the fact that SS takes much longer than regular SS.

Cheers.

Go live your life. Maybe they will make a decision by the time you have grandkids and they will live the Canadian life you dreamed off :D:D:D
Seriously - if you can afford it, don't "put your life on pause".

P.S. Got my GCMS yesterday - Security: Not Started, Criminality: In Progress. Which, as far as I understand, can mean anything, including "just need a review by an agent (no time limit), and then you're done".

P.S.S. I'm a biometrics guy - submitted biometrics on their request the next day. No change since November 2018.

What have I invented exactly? Of course SS is part of Security as such that it only gets triggered when Security is initiated that is if it gets triggered. That is to say they do not start SS without initiating Security. Whatever you are saying I know already, so please stop telling me, because honestly I am telling you it is really extremely boring hearing about SS. It is so boring omg I have read so much about it and I am through with it. Only thing matters is processing time. You wanna do a PHD in Security or SS or whatever, good for you. I have no interest absolutely no interest in it. I have read about it and that's that. You think I dont know how data is presented in notes? Man come on I have ordered already 2 times GCMS notes and also CBSA notes... So yeah please don't tell me what I already know... And your last line I don't even know what you are trying to say as it doesnt even make sense... ''....SS takes much longer than regular SS." Which SS are you talking about? I believe it is comprehensive SS that you are saying.. so please you are the one who is not using proper names.... I have been waiting so long and gosh i really dont need the 101 on SS lol, no honestly it is so so so so boring frustrating whatever and i am soooooooooooooo done. Thanks anyways. Cheers.

Omg considering how much you been running your mouth regarding SS and blabla , I would have thought you would know these things. But clearly you don't. You don't even know about the term 'Comprehensive SS'. Rather you are telling me I invented stuff lol. Man why would I do that? Because it is clearly stated in my CBSA notes. It is shameful truly. What is that saying 'Empty vessels make the most noise'? Yes something like that.
