to my knowledge, you need that document to be able to retire in canada. i hope you just misplaced it and did not lose it! we actually keep ours in our bank safe in case our house burns down. that is a very important document.

my husband didnt even have a test date! can he reschedule the test/interview? Or is it just the oath ceremony?

Yes, there is an email in the letter for the test invite advising if you can't make it, to email them with a reason.

i had my test in Scarborough office on jan 15. I didn't had this document and officer said its fine. shed asked me what happened to it and i told her it is in a safety deposit box. no issues. Got DM yesteray.

Hi - Yes, I wrote and passed the test on Jan 15 (Montreal) and got updated to DM the next day.
Also, as to the documents they asked to see after the test: the officer barely looked at them. I put my diploma (with English degree) and Decision of Landing in the space between our two windows, and they just stayed there. He flipped through my passport, asked me a few questions about my work and my husband's work, and then told me that the oath ceremony invite was usually between 2-6 months. That was it. The test was pretty easy. The funny thing was, lots of test information was available in the room where we all took the test - -i.e. crests with the Canadian mottos on them, symbols and capitols in pictures on the walls, ha ha ha.
I arrived at 7:50, waited in line until taking the test at 8:20, was done at 8:25; interviewed a few minutes later, and was done at 8:40!

I just came back from my citizenship testing in Calgary, and the officer did not ask for the confirmation of landing. She checked my drivers' license, PR card, current and expired passport (for the entry/departure stamps), nothing else.

Thank you for sharing. Can you tell us a little bit more about test? What kind of questions were asked. Ty..

At the test, we were explicit told not to discuss the contents of the test.

Most ppl finished the test in less than 15 minutes.

oh, one thing you maybe want to prepare is your upcoming travel dates. they will ask you to write down the dates on the paper and use it as a basis for scheduling the oath ceremony.
