I've left out the citizenship test as I'm 65 this year and exempt from the requirement under both the old and new rules (one advantage to being old!). It will be interesting to see if this makes the process any faster. I waited to submit my application as we'll be out of Canada this winter and I'm hoping that my oath ceremony will be held after our return, rather than making a special flight home. Frankly, I'd go anywhere, anytime for it!

2013 and 2017 will be partial years and any other year he is out of country more than six years others are full years altogether should be 1460 days. It is prudent to wait for 3 days after 1460 to apply.

how can 2017 be partial? it is not even in the taxes list.
so if 2013 is counted as partial, then he has 2016, 2015 and 2014 full and 2013 half, which means 3.5 years only. I am quite at a lost. do we need to add 2012 and 2011 to the list too? Does anybody in here use 4 full years if so how?

We decided to wait another day and apply at 1462 days. i am hundred percent sure of his days as all are verified with passports and tickets. I don't see any reason to wait longer. I highly doubt immigration officer will reject an application after the number of days are filled.

2017 will be counted as partial for days count. Tax years are only after you became residents. 2017 tax year is not applicable before the year end. So provide the information only from 2013 and onwards. Hopefully it cleared your point.

yes thank you. i also actually called cic.
so they are interested in the years after he becomes pr. for taxes, i only need to add 2013 and onwards as you have mentioned. their wording is odd in there though. "partial" tax years sounds funny. it is however for people who ended up living outside of canada more than 6 months in their relative year. so not really applicable to my husband's case.

With that being said, our application is done and seal. we are going to mail that first thing in the morning. i hope to travel next year (visa and hassle free for the first time yaaaayyyy!), so i hope we get it by early summer. i have seen some applications quickly finish. but not much data from ottawa, which is where we are. so fingers crossed!

I was wondering if let me know about changing on the date of your application which you resent them back or with your original date when you applied for at the first time ? Did you update the number of your presence days in calculator form or not ?

I had more than enough days for my physical presence in Canada. It's just that I filled in one single typo on the date I received my PR i.e. 1 replaced by 2. I redid the calculator printout, and sent it back.

Thanks buddy, Hope get your AOR soon.

Application sent on September 12th for a single applicant from Ottawa. expected delivery is September 14th. Let's see when we get AOR.

So, now, he needs to study for interview :)
what should he study? When my mother did this years ago, she had some multiple choice questions that she memorized and test was just 20 of those 200 questions. is it still the same? If so, where do we get that booklet from?

Keep posted progress. Based on current trend AOR email should come from cic in 35 to 40 days from the date of application received .
