Hopefully it comes soon for the rest of you that are waiting :). I was hoping there would be some more DMs come through this weekend. My hubby and I live apart not sure if that plays into or not? Who knows with CIC is all I think anyone can honestly answer

I distracted myself this weekend by packing more boxes. I'd been avoiding starting the areas that were actively being used until the background check started. Now we're basically living out of suitcases so DM and PPR need to come soon. :D

OMG!!!!! Background check in progress!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYYY!!!! I complained too soon!!!

I'm not sure when it changed, but I checked on Friday around 1pm and nothing changed and just checked this morning and it was updated to "in progress"!!!

Thank you guys for making me feel better, I just had to be one more weekend patient!

wonderful wonderful wonderful!

I got a request for an additional police clearance December 13 and submitted it a week later.

Does anyone know if that usually delays things?

I am in a hard spot at the moment as there is an important family health issue that has come up back in Australia so I want to go home for that in a couple of weeks, but I am afraid that I will get an interview request (although our application is solid and we have lived together for almost 3 years now).

Does anyone know if it delays the process longer if they request additional docs? eg. do they request the docs then wait the full time period before they check them again?

Also- if someone could explain how the passport request works, if I am in Australia can I mail it to them from Australia even though I reside in Toronto?

September 7 Applicant here...Ottawa visa office. No movement since medicals were passed back in the Fall. Anyone else stuck? Someone...anybody tell me my timeline is similar.

Seeing so much progress with applications submitted after ours is making us antsy. :(

I'm a September 7th applicant as well and my background check just started on Monday! Maybe we have the same officer and yours will start any day now!!

if the background check is 'in progress' does that mean it is unlikely that I will have to have an interview?

most lkely ...if BC did not change for weeks they might ask for interview

I don't think this is entirely true. CIC seem to have slowed down with processing applications. I didn't get my BC until recently. I would hope if they have any doubts that they'd ask for information instead of an interview.

I don't think the length of time has anything to do with it. Many of us Ottawa applicants had a 8+ week BC and none of us have had to do an interview before case closed (BC back in November and DM in January).

Cno po VO nyo?

Got an email from CIC on Friday afternoon confirmed my address to send my passport back to and then Saturday night got an email saying my CIC status has been updated which confirms my PR has been approved.

Hi Guys, I just wanted to know if my wife and I need to open a joint bank account in India. I am a Canadian PR. Will it be a benefit?

Also, my wife has my name in her passport but her parental home address instead of mine. Will that be a problem? Do we need to have common Indian address in her all ID proofs? Her's is the parental address for Aadhar card and Passport.

I have a question about the COPR process, but I'm not sure if anybody can help me out.

We're about to send my husband's new photos and a passport photocopy to CIC, and the email said to include a prepaid envelope that they'll use for the COPR. It's being sent to his US address, and we didn't want to spend a fortune on the envelope, so we just bought the appropriate stamps for a regular envelope. Does anyone know if that will suffice? Furthermore, do we really need to send a prepaid envelope when we aren't required to send an actual passport? I found the email they sent us pretty confusing, honestly...
