Yes, it read 'passed' as soon as I was able to link my app to it back in early Sept :/

Yeah, I really need to stop. I just cant help it!!! I was doing really good until I started noticing everyone who submitted after me as gotten background check in process. It's driving me insane that mine hasn't started yet!!!

I know I know. But then BAM it was my turn and just like that it will be yours
in the meantime do this fun little exercise, picture the quirks of each visa officer -- i want them to be like machines and all act the same, but something tells me they are more like elves in santa's workshop, at least i hope so!

CIC probably only hires people that are unhappily married as the officers so that they've become cynical and unbelieving in love. XD

Wow so many congratulations are in order!

I hope more of you can get something before Christmas! Below is a timeline..

Sept 5th - submitted application with medical and all fees paid upfront
Oct 6th - approved as a sponsor and application sent to Ottawa VO
November 15th - medical changed to in process
November 16th - background checked to in process
November 16th husband received email asking for passport photos
November 28th - PR GRANTED!

My husband is from the UK and our application was pretty straight forward, no kids, no previous marriages.

That's really great to hear! Congratulations! Mine is pretty straight forward too, except for the time he applied for TRV but was denied because not enough family ties and travel history to link him back home. We mentioned it again in the application because we wanted to be transparent. We really hoped he could visit his wife before applying for sponsorship, possibly letting him see the country for himself and deciding on his own, but they decided against it.

Just wondering where you go to see that page. When I log on to cic to check my application status. The only thing it shows me is that the application is in progress. There's no detailed breakdown like you have there.

Hi! There are 2 places (3 if you include this forum!!) that I check daily.
1. ECAS http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp
2. MyCIC http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/link.asp

The ECAS I found were regarding MY details (sponsor) and the MyCIC were details regarding my husband (principal applicant). The detailed breakdown is found in MyCIC.
