Thank you so much for clarifying that! We'll make sure to use very careful language when crossing the border.

To your question: I did look for an October Applicants thread but couldnt find one.

Edit: Found it! Guess I should migrate there since I'll be submitting this month.

Another question: My mom is actively networking at her job trying to get my fiance in the door there. If he is staying with me as a visitor and does get a job offer, how would that impact our application for his permanent residence? Would the employer have to get him a work permit / work visa?

He can't work without a work permit and unless you are applying inland (and wait a few months to hear back) I don't think he is eligible for an open work permit (OWP) so he would need a work-sponsored visa. I'm not sure what the details are in getting something like that, but if he is able to get one successfully then the Dual Intent remains - he is allowed to be in Canada working while also applying for permanent residency. I found the other thread too! Good luck! :)

Hello,

i am a september 19th applicant. Got my AOR1 with application number on Saturday. But i still cannot access ecas. the message says "cannot find your information". is that normal? i know ecas is often not real time but just curious
thanks

Yessssssss, aor1...i am doing a dance for every step on this journey

Might I ask for a kind assistance from the more experienced members on this thread? Looking through all the posts, linking applications to both MyCIC and ecas seems very confusing.

Could someone knowledgeable please post a summary post with a step-by-step process for each? Including how long it's useful to wait before trying to link applications for each would also be welcome, as I see a lot of frustration from people trying to link to each system too fast (i.e. before getting an app number starting with F, etc.)

Thanks in advance!

And I am celebrating everyone else's achieved steps too, congrats to all Sept hopefuls who have aor1 and SA!!!!!!!!

Sorry if I'm hijacking your question, but I have a more fundamental request ... is there any benefit to looking at both myCIC and ECAS? MyCIC seems to give more information and my understanding is that automated updates on the application come from myCIC. Why bother with ECAS?

Received SA email yesterday, October 17th. It was sent to Ottawa, so now the real waiting game starts and I won't be hearing anything until CoPR, right?

Just received AOR. Application was sent in 27 days ago.

Finally got my SA approval after 14 days

Congrats to all the AORs and SAs!! I love seeing the progress on the spreasheet haha!

Thanks let hope that federal government comes up something with family reunion soon

I checked myCIC today and found that application number is changed from XF to F, no AOR1 email yet. "Review of Medical results" shows passed.

App received date - 23rd September

How do I enlist my details in spreadsheet? Is there any form or should I directly put the details on spreadsheet?

The same happened to me today. My medical is passed and my application number starts with an F now. I put it on the spreadsheet as AOR.

When do you find out where they sending the application to? With the SA?

Thanks, guys! :)

Congrats!!

Just checked, and my number also changed from a XF to a F!! And Review of Medical results also changed to Passed. So excited to see some movement!!

Now, is it safe to assume that the application won't be returned at this point? And also, does the update on the medical results mean they won't ask for another one? We did the medicals in March 2016 and were worried that they were going to expire before CIC looked at them...?

Hello guys,

Any idea how to link mycic to my application? i have been trying since my application but i keep getting the message ... "application not found". i got my aor1 with F application number last week and still same problem. Same problem on ecas which i understand considering it is not real time.
While linking my account do i query using my spouse's details or mine?

any help appreciated.
