Guys! Help me here.

My spouse and have a kid , whose name was on the application - hes already Canadian citizen coz we got him a passport after delivery- but his name is on the application , just cos we need to put it there as our son.

And now we are having another kid, who also will b canadian straight up, so d question is , do i need to inform cic of d new baby , or not since it wont affect the application in any way ???? do i have to inform??

Hi Tolexmi,

I believe you should inform CIC, and tell them that the kid will be born in Canada, so you will not have to sponsor it. I think that actually might speed up a bit your application as they are giving priority to families with kids. :)

Kitty_T i'm not sure, but in the initial forms there was a dependent form for under 18 I believe.... I think is the form IMM 008 DEP but I'm not sure what else you need or how to pay additional fees.

Good luck :)

Thanks Stephcy - but the kid wont b born in Canada .

Just like our first child, he will b born in Cambodia, but immediately after delivery, a week usually, i submit the birth certificate and other docs to the Canadian embassy and apply for citizenship and a passport. which usually is approved without problems.

do u still insist i should just inform cic or let my sponsor do it?? ( My sponsor is my Common law partner and we live together in Cambodia.

And also, i will need a link o d page where i can do that.. thanx

Any update Sep applicants?

Hi :)

I think you can use this link here to inform you. Probably your common-law partner should do it.
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

I believe you should inform them cause it's an important change of your situation it's written in the link I send you above:

'You wish to report important changes, such as a change in address, births, deaths, marriages, divorces, adoptions, changes in employment or urgent requests. If you are reporting an address change, it will take 5 business days for it to be updated. During this time you should continue to monitor your current contact information.'

I think it's always important to be honest with them and inform them in advance, instead of them finding out letter. Having kids can only help your application :)

As you will be sponsored by your partner I'm not sure how that affects the situation with your future baby. I read in post before i don't remember exactly where that people inform for their pregnancy and CIC asked them if the baby will be sponsored or be born in Canada. I'm not a mummy yet so I don't really know, but I wish to be soon. It's just so complicate I find with all these procedures.

Good luck :)

You are supposed to advise CIC of important status changes. A new child would I think be about the most important status change there is, so yes, you should let them know. And congratulations. :D

I'm in the same situation as you. You can call the call Center and talk to an agent but there are all useless. So infuriating.

Hi ghelzkhie,

If you are did an inland sponsorship application is a completely different situation that outland. According to CIC website for the 1st assessment which includes the sponsorship approval it takes 17 months they are still processing applications received June 3rd 2014. So I believe you just need to be super patient... Why did you choose inland application? I think you should follow the inland thread, people will know better. Good luck :)

SeulDansMonBocal are you an inland or outland applicant?

Congrats Bricksmith :)

I'm outland. Called them 3 times. All I got is that the agent email the case officer and the officer has 3 months to answer back to the email. So I'm just supposed to wait. I'll call again next week maybe someone else will be able to help.
