Awe the dreaded mother in-law lol, hope she gives you guys some space :-\ How do you like Quebec is it hard to fit in there compared to home? I ask because as a lifelong Canadian Quebec seems much like it's own country within Canada, and then there's the language barrier too etc.

Hahah she gives us space, luckily.. idk, just his family in general is hard to deal with. His mother on her own isn't too bad...

I definitely don't feel I fit in, and I constantly feel judged when we go out. The whole nice Canadians stereotype... yeah, sorry to anyone who's from here, but Quebecers can be a bit rude. And that's coming from someone who lived in the south/midwest where people are super friendly.
My husband doesn't even like it here, and he was born and raised here.

I can relate as New Brunswick is somewhat the same in some ways, and is Canada's only official bi-lingual province (which slipped my radar when I first moved here doh!).. So for many jobs you need to be able to speak both languages. Coming from the west coast it's just really very different here with the people and well just everything lol.. Anyhow perhaps a move to a different local in Canada with be in the forecast someday, and till then there are still reasons to smile

Well the very last thing we needed showed up in the mail today, the medical card.. So SIN#, PR card, DL, and medicare card all accounted for and in hand, guess we are all done, yay! 8)

Yes, we are definitely interested in Ontario! And it's the next province over, like you said, so it wouldn't be a far move. Ottawa is only an hours drive from what my husband says, so even better!

Yeah... it still doesn't feel real that it's over. Mostly bc I am doing the exact same things I was doing before I left to land. So, life doesn't feel different just yet...

Just wanted to check in and say that fizban's partner landed successfully this past Saturday September 12, 2015, at Toronto Island Billy Bishop airport. Yep, even at that tiny airport they have full immgration facilities!

She reported that the experience was very easy. The immigration agent was courteous and friendly, and remarked on how well we did our homework with the B4 and B4A forms.

The only wrinkle is that the agent said now it takes about 6-8 weeks to get the PR card, which seems like a long time!

Thanks to everybody for being there throughout this whole infuriating process!

Well it was one year ago today that they received our package in the mail room.. It was such an anxious time back then with all the unknowns and wondering if we filled out and submitted everything right, not to mention the thought what if they lose everything etc. I can't believe everything went okay as we were under so much duress last summer and leading in to September. I was working crazy long hours and my wife was back in the states having to deal with her toxic mom and going through crisis after crisis. So glad it's all over and in the past.. Good luck to everyone and much happiness and blessings to your new lives together.

Hi guys!! Been pretty hectic here since we got my others half PR!

Given our notices at work - got in touch with gb liners and shipped our belongings over, decorated the flat for it to be rented, organised tenants, now just to book our flights and a flight for our beloved pooch!

I hav started looking for jobs, but if anyone can recommend any good recruitment agencies In Ontario (Sudbury) that would be fab! We hope to land november24th!!
