Did anybody from September who got email AOR receive a test invite ?

None as per the spreadsheet/this topic.

It seems that not all regular mail AOR recipients got faster processing times but it does seem that all faster processing applications had regular mail AOR.

I had provided an email, got AOR by regular mail and no test invite yet. Sorry to ruin your theory :P

Me too. I'm in the same boat.

My son and I applied on the same day and at the same time , however used separate envelopes . Both of us provided our email addresses . My son received an AOR in mail in first week of December , however I received an email AOR one month after him . Interestingly our files got in process with a difference of just one day . Nonetheless , now our files are transferred to our local office .

I do feel that email AOR recipients are selected randomly . We might be part of a pilot project started by CIC .

I don't see how having provided e-mail or not can be connected with how fast an application is being processed.
My impression is that even the agents don't know what and how everything happens.
So far the agents were unable to answer even one question I asked them.
The only thing they do is to check your file and tell you what is the current status of the application and even that is sometimes difficult to make them do.

Did my test today :). Fairly simple and straight-forward. My advice to anyone taking the test soon, read the book and do a couple of online quizzes and you are good.

After my test (scored 19/20 :D), I had an interview with an officer who asked me some questions to test my English as well as examine the documents I provided for my application. Interview processed took about 10 mins. At the end of it, she asked me if I am available on the oath date (they had the letter printed already). I said yes and she filled in my information on the letter and told me to come back on the oath date for the ceremony. I didn't expect to get it on the spot, thought it would be mailed to me.

Finally reaching the end of my immigration journey!

Letter Dated 10th Feb 2015

Hi Ajay.. I have exactly same timeline like yours. Just want to know that did your ecas status changed.. mine is still showing In Process with 3 lines.

Just an update; took the test today, passed and got the Oath invite for Feb 18th.

Timeline:
Date Sent => 29-Sep-2014 regular mail
Date Received => 7-Oct-2014 (According to eCAS)
eCAS updated => 20-Nov-2014
Processing Started => 17-Nov-2014
File Transferred to Mississauga => not mentioned
AOR/Book in Mailbox => 9-Dec-2014
Test Date => 13-Feb-2015 7:45 am(Letter Received on 21 Jan 2015)
Oath => 18-Feb-2015 (invitation handed over after the test)

That makes 10 days shy of 5 mts the all process.

Test was easy, if you read the book. Questions are different formulated than the quiz tests you find on-line.
Interview, just small talk while the officer was checking the DL, OHIP card, PR and passport.

Now some notes for skeptical around this forum:
- this was my second application; first time applied in 2006 and refused on residency concerns after hearing with a Judge
- in the last 4 years only since last year I had permanent employment; before that self-employed
- I did not send any work records (in fact no additional documents, except those mentioned in check-list), although the application form was the one requesting the work record (the reason was I just missed reading that)
- I changed address 2 months prior application (hence new issued DL) and altogether had 4 addresses in the past 4 years.
- no travel during last 4 years.

Congrats era1521.. Best of luck.

I know waiting is painful but once it's over we won't feel.

Congrats ajay95. We have a similar timeline so I hope I get mine soon. :D
