Quick question:

For the individuals who are monitoring the statuses closes --- how long do you think (average) is it taking for the status to go from "we started processing your application on ..." TO "your application is being processed at a local office" ? Would you say it's average 2-3 weeks for the applicants under the new routine ?

Update on my Case:

Passed the test today at Scarborough. Got 20/20 (questions were very easy and all were from the book). After the test gave interview for about 10 minutes and the officer told me that because of my trips they need to verify my dates with CBSA. I had the CBSA report with me but said they need to do inquiry themselves which usually takes about a day and I should get oath invite after that. I think they were doing the same for everyone with travel history. Those who didn't have travel history were getting the invite there.

My timeline:
Application Sent: Sept 15
AOR Received: Dec 20
Test invite: Jan 5
Test Date: Jan 19

That is not correct . My friend has a travel history and he got his oath letter immediately for the 29th of January. Maybe you were unable to defend your trips outside Canada. Wishing you the best soon.

Well for my son (he is only 19) his file was transferred on the next day of getting "in process" ,however for me it took 6 days after getting in process .Both of us are full time students at reputed Universities .

Hope it helps!

Ok thanks.

Not that I am not looking forward to a fast processing of my file ... but I think I am OK with 1 -2 weeks time to get the status updated from "we started processing your application..." TO "Your application was transferred to your local office ..." reason being , I just had to submit my new passport for my schengen VISA. Even though, many say that CIC officer shouldn't really care about the new passport - as it did not exist when you were applying I would still like to have it in my possession at the time of the test.

Quick Question:

My citizenship application is under process and the timeline is as follows:
Application Sent: Sept 15
AOR Received: Jan 16

My passport is expiring in a couple of months time, and I will be attaining a new passport;
Do I need to provide updates to CIC about the new passport that will be attained and does this affect the citizenship process in any way?

Is it both fingerprint request and RQ (Residence Questionnaire) or just fingerprint request?

Hi desigirltoronto84, not sure which particular country / embassy is processing your Schengen visa (for me it was the Czech embassy), but I didn't need to submit my passport. I gave photocopies only. When they received approval for my visa, they called me to their office and implanted the visa on my passport in 5-10 minutes.

Just a question did you have to provide this for you pr?
Thanks

Normally, Couple weeks. You can check my timeline as well. As far as I know, The purpose of checking passport on test date, is to ensure/verify that you were eligible to apply for Citizenship or You haven't hidden anything on application. You surely wanna take your new passport on test date. But I don't think they will care though.
