I just got an email from CIC on reciept of my application. here is the quote.

"This confirms that your application for Canadian Citizenship has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2014/09/15"

it seems this is in new process where they send AOR by email.

hope this moves fast....

When have you received that? Where are you from? Does location matters in case of getting this notification? Calgary processing is the slowest probably in Canada. But I would not imagine that effects getting this notification that the application has been received.
