Alex_78 said:I just called CIC again the agent again confirmed my file was received on Sep 8 and an acknowledgement was sent was by post which I never received. He however could not give me my case no saying that a case no has not been created yet and said that he will send me study Canada guide through my email. Is that normal?
So my question is with AOR do you receive a case no or that is given on a later date?ualiu said:contact your local member of PARLIAMENT, will get some help.
At least for my case, the staff in his office call me and call the CIC for more information one day after I sent the email to him.

So I'm trying to make sense of this.. the form I submitted in Sept 2014 was labeled as: "CIT 0002 (05-2014) E". TODAY (1/14/2015) I went to the cic website and downloaded the form again and it has the exact same label. Now to the confusing part... the one I submitted says this on Question 6F: "If you answered yes, you must provide photocopies of your work and/or education records." whereas the one I got from their site TODAY says: "If you answered yes to attending an educational institution, you must provide photocopies of your education records."thecoolguysam said:Old CIT0002 form used to ask about employment proof and now new form does not ask for it so it means it is not required to send work records.

Although, I have to say that I printed and read the application instruction guide at least 50 times (not exaggerating ...) I did not see anywhere in the document where it is written NOT to include additional documents. Instead, at the beginning of the "Gather Documents" section it said - "Note: Additional documents may be required during the processing of your application." Also, the video says "not to substitute any document mentioned in the checklist" i don't recall it saying DO NOT under any circumstances add additional documents.
Anyway,to each their own, I guess. Best of luck with your RQ. Keep us posted on your application progress.
Ohhh, I am seeing your response now, after I made all the research on where i had seen the same thing. :-( But, anyways, thanks for corroborating my point. I know of a couple of my friends who sent exactly what I sent and have similar entry exits from Canada and never got an RQ. So, it is hard to tell what was the trigger for me. The form could not have been incomplete, as it was not returned and also got a File number.thecoolguysam said:Please note and remember that if RQ is bound to happen then no matter what additional documents you send with the initial application, it will still happen. There are various factors that can trigger RQ and lots of information is available if you google it. CIC officers are very muc experienced and they check 100s of applications a day and they assess the application to make sure that it is complete and if they find any discrepancies then RQ is likely to occur.
As per forum member's experience there is no proof that additional documents helped even though it did not harm. If you watch the video carefully, it says not to send additional documents not being asked:
Here this is what he said:
“However, do not provide documents that we have not requested.”

Old CIT0002 form used to ask about employment proof and now new form does not ask for it so it means it is not required to send work records.
I sent work records (NOAs, Employment letter, etc), but I haven't even received AOR yet since my application was received in Sept 30th.thecoolguysam said:i suppose it was changed either in september or october but i am not too sure.
If you have used old form, did you send your work records?
what is the current status of your application?
I suggest you to prepare the application with a date "in the near future" when you intend to send your application. You can sign it on that date and send the application a few days later without a problem, but I would advise against sending it before the date in the application. The application form is clear about using black pen, and while other documents don't say anything about it, I'd just use the same pen for everything.deepsight said:Please advise if we have to sign the application with the same date as the Application date ? same for the receipts ?
signature on all documents with black pen ?
Anybody knows what will happen if we submit a 2nd application and the they find the first application before receiving the 2nd ? are they going to disregard the 2nd application when they receive it ?
