Finally we landed !!!!!!!
Last Monday my lawyer received the COPR from CIC. I immediately pick them up, got my family and drove to Peace Bridge in Fort Erie.
The process was smooth both at US border and at Canada immigration office.
We met a friendly officer that processed the papers rapidly and decided also to take new digital pictures of all of us due to the fact that the required picture sizes changed last December and the ones we provided at the begin with the applications were no longer matching the now required dimensions.
IMPORTANT: we discovered that at the time of the landing process (ONLY at the landing and not after), you can prepare a list of personal belongings that you're planning to bring to Canada in the following months or years (furniture, paintings, carpets .... you name them). If you prepare this list with an estimated value and the proper item description, you'll be entitled to bring them to Canada without facing any custom duty. If you don't prepare such a list, the day you want to bring them to Canada, you'll have to pay taxes on the value that Canada Custom will estimate.
So, we spent another hour trying to list all items and furniture we left behind and that we will bring here in the next future.
Overall everything went smooth.
Now the fun is going to begin.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for the support of the forum members.
