I hope you're joking. you should know by know that day of submitting an application means nothing. it's all about the officer responsible of your file.

Also 3 days difference is nothing, that's totally normal

Hey winterfox thanks for your dignified response. Those other two idiots who responded have no manners or respect.

My spouse was a visitor here and she got her Spousal BOWP along with my BOWP. Do I need to inform CIC about her status change? Thanks!

August applicant didn't start this week also... :-(

Winterfox -please check if you're in the Specialized Worker category or Manager. If you are, then your limits are respectively 5 years and 7 years, and the cooling period is 1 year, instead of 4 more. I have actually done a lot of research on this, so if you tell me your exact scenario, I can help you.

NOTE: If you've only stayed in Canada in all these years, then YOU HAVE TO apply for EXTENSION from Canada. If you're planning to go back home and apply, it will be counted as a NEW app and your app will be rejected based on 1-continuous-year-outside-Canada-in-last-3-years rule... My story :'(

Please don't wait and repeat my case. Act now.

SCARED ME TO DEATH

Statement from Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander and Employment and Social Development Minister Pierre Poilievre on the expiration of the four-year temporary work permits
Ottawa, April 1, 2015 – Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander and Employment and Social Development Minister Pierre Poilievre issued the following statement today on the expiration of the four-year work permits:

“Employers and foreign workers have known about the four-year time limit since 2011, when this policy was announced.

“Employers have had four years to find alternative employees. Similarly, temporary foreign workers have had four years to pursue pathways to permanent residence.

“The purpose of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program is exactly that – to be temporary. Canadians rightly expect to get first crack at available jobs.

“Temporary workers may wish to explore the many pathways to permanent residency we offer which are now delivered through Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs. We encourage foreign workers to apply through these streams so that they can contribute permanently to Canada's economy and to their communities.

“But let there be no mistake: We will not tolerate people going ‘underground.' Flouting our immigration laws is not an option, and we will deal with offenders swiftly and fairly.
“Canadians are welcoming and generous but we need to ensure that we're putting Canadians first and standing up against potential abuse of our immigration system.”

I have finished 4 years already on work permit and applied for the 5th one now (BOWP) and my PR file is in process ..
DOES THIS EFFECT ME >??????

Aryaban it doesn't matter if I've crossed 4 years.. as long as I have a PR app in process I'm entitled to a new bowp.. that is the exception stated on the website

applies only if you're in Canada now. hope that's covered?

Yea true .. if u leave canada even for a month and apply from outside .. u will be rejected outright like my friend

Checking if anybody knows better:

I have spent 52 of the last 72 months in Canada, with last 7 of the last on a row (since Oct 2014) and entire 2012 outside Canada. So within last THREE years, if a continuous year is considered, then I have 2012, and if a total of 12 months is considered, then I have last 7 on the trot in 2014-15 and then 5 more towards the end of 2012. Needless to say, I don't have a continuous 12 in last 36; therefore unsure if I should file for a new WP.

Should I give it a try, mentioning my case and try my luck. I am under Specialized knowledge category with Significant benefits (NOC2173).

guys,

Out of my curiosity I just called CIC to know my application status. Agent has confirmed that my application will be processed in 12 months i.e. on or before Feb 2016. So 12 months period is calculated from the date AOR received not from the Application Received date. I got AOR in first week of Feb 2015.
