PCC and RCMP check, both are different. PCC is from India and it was been submitted. Then RCMP is Canadian one. You have to do this now.

Thanks Buddy!!!

How much it's going to charge....any link or earlier experience would be highly appreciated....

Hi guys
Is this RCMP thing for every applicant or is it on Random basis ?
Getting an RCMP thing .. is it a positive sign for people receiving it ?

I think an RCMP check is for certain individuals only whose record CIC cannot find online. If they're able to check it for themselves, they may request it from all applicants.

Email came from CPC-CTD-Ottawa <CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca>

RCMP is random check . But I doubt they will sent it to everyone who didn't do this before . after all it can increase CA's government income.
:D
good sign : at least we are not forgot . it is moving .

Received my RCMP request too just an hour ago....

Dear all, I just received the RCMP a little bit different:

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following document:

FOR YOUR SPOUSE AND ANY OTHER DEPENDENTS OVER THE AGE OF 18;

Ø Police Certificate: A certified RCMP criminal record check based on fingerprints.
Please consult ....... for detailed instructions.

Q1: Does this mean that I only need to submit the RCMP for my husband but not for myself?

Q2: When the email showed up in my gmail, there is a big blank box between "the following document" and "FOR YOUR SPOUSE ", did I missed something in the box? what does it look like in ur email?

Hi Guys,

Just wondering, do everyone will received this RCMP request ? as i submitted police certificate (both back home one and Canadian province as well) on the time on application submission but not sure RCMP is different.

CIC conducts a name-based search for all the applicants. If there is some discrepancy or if there is someone with the same name as yours and that person has a criminal record, then CIC asks for RCMP clearance certificate....
So no, not everyone gets an RCMP request...

I had submitted the RCMP check with fingerprints along with my Application and it was not older than 2 weeks at the time of submission. The email mentions that disregard this message if you already submitted the check. So what should I do? Can I give a call to the CIC call center and ask them about it?

The only confusing part is the one in bold above. I know I had submitted it with my application but not very sure about disregarding this email. It would be great if some experienced member comes up with a proper answer. We just have too much speculation here.

Regards

P.S. For the members wondering about what RCMP check is. You normally submit a police clearance letter from your provincial police as well as from all countries where you lived for more than 6 months since the age of 18. This check won't need fingerprints. For RCMP check, you have to visit one of the participating agencies, pay a fee of almost $65, get a photograph done and get your fingerprints done. Usually it takes 2 weeks to receive the RCMP check after you have done the procedure.
