September 2013 Citizenship Application

I think sometimes I am so stupid to bi-monthly call CIC call center and listening to stupid words from an agent. I really hate this stuff and I should convince myself not to call them again. I'm wondering if they can answer anything why they take the calls about citizenship applications?!!
Anyway guys, she told me the process can take up to 24 to 35 months and my next step will be the test.
The reason that I called them today (and I found out I'm so stupid) was that my home country passport will be expired in couple of weeks , so I wanted to know if CIC is not going to call me soon for writing my test, I renew my passport which can take up to 5 weeks. During this period, I won't have my passport and if CIC calls me for the test, I honestly don't know what the hell I have to do!
I didn't get any answer from the agent except "it's your choice sir !"

On the 6th of December, Sydney office started processing of my file . background check was done in January 2014 and since then there was no action . At the end of September, finally, Windsor office received my file. I was about to give up. I just called cic. usually they give the test date or they say: no date has been scheduled ,But the agent told me that you are going to get your test date pretty soon and he added if you didn't get any news from us by October 27th call us back . do you think I am getting the test date soon?

Usually, the local offices don't the applications too long. If the agent told you that your test is pretty soon, you should prepare yourself for that. God willing it happens to you very very soon.
In some cases including me , the local office doesn't take any action on the files for a while. For example, the Hamilton applicants usually get invited to the test around 6-8 weeks after LOT but mine has been with them over 4 months and nothing mentioned in ATIP report.
Hope it helps and I were you, I would prepare all my documents and study the book.

I called CIC today and the agent told me no test has been scheduled yet for me. Bizarrely, my application has got stuck in the Hamilton local office over 4.5 months. I hope it gets to a happy ending ...

I had my oath on saturday @ scarborough.
It started around 9am and ended around 10am. Had 75 oath takers.
Ceremony was short.
I want to say a big thank you to this forum for helping me through this process over the years !
And I wish all those still on the journey the best of luck and my best advice is to never loose hope or patience.
I am proud to finally be a canadian !
