September 2013 Citizenship Application

Mine was returned as incomplete yesterday so I am out of the Sep 2013 pool

Why was your application returned and what is your location.

I submitted my application at the beginning of September. According to the Canada Post, the package arrived at Sydney's CIC on September 06. No update yet on CIC web site

Are people just getting their received application date by sending their application with a tracking number?

I won't actually have any sort of case/file number that I can use at the CIC check application status page until I get a letter from CIC correct?

My application was sent back once because it was incomplete and that was very quick, but this time around I haven't heard anything and it's been about 6 weeks.

I was never sent anything where I could check my status online. I never got a file number or anything like that, that I know of, because my application wasn't actually processed yet.

My application was just physically sent back through the mail and I was told I could fix the issues and resubmit.

I can apply for citizenship through my mother and the problem was that I didn't notarize my or her birth certificate and I foolishly forgot to date the application.

So instead I just sent the originals because you cannot notarize vital statistics like birth certs. Apparently that seemed to work and hopefully they'll send them back when they're done with them.

received by Sydney on sep 3....no update yet....nothing on e-cas....I hope that they will not send it back and have to wait another few months. getting impatient...lol

Today I spoke to a CIC agent who said that they are currently opening applications sent up to August 29 2013 and probably we won't have any updates by the end of November

something to add....I called the call centre for some other reason and when I asked to check the citizenship application she said that my file already got transferred to the local office. how is that possible? they just started to process it
