According to the CIC website, the applicants with AEO do not need to show that they have those funds so I think that you can carry as much as you want... My opinion...

Read carefully...

You do not have to show that you have these funds if:
•you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
•you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.

If you are not currently working or authorized to work in Canada, in other words if don't have a valid WP currently, you need to show those funds !!!

Number of Family Members Funds Required (in Canadian dollars)

1 $11,115
2 $13,837
3 $17,011
4 $20,654
5 $23,425
6 $26,419
7 or more $29,414

Hi Mysteaka

it's good to hear from you too...I was just wondering where you had been since it had been a while since last saw you online...

about the fingerprints thing, I have no idea how long they are going to take now...I hope they do it soon though....

FYI:

In your GCMS under Criminality if it says "Fingerprints required" please get it done right away. I checked in my GCMS that fingerprints were required since Dec 10 when my application started processing and they did not send me the request until Jan 14.

CIC works in mysterious way....I would be very happy to know one day that these officers are accountable to someone...

What's your status under Security in GCMS notes ?

You do not have to show that you have these funds if:
•you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
•you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.

4 $20,654
5 $23,425
6 $26,419
7 or more $29,414
Ok, but if he gets the visa with AEO than he automatically is authorized to work in Canada, right?

Keyworld: currently

In my opinion, if he gets the visa, only after he land as PR he will be authorized to work in Canada, not before land as PR.

Ok, and what about the second part of the sentence "authorized to work in Canada."? The HRS DC opinion (positive one), means that he is authorized to work after he gets a permanent resident visa.

Anyone else, has any opinion about this issue?

not until you officially land at a border or office...once immigration clears you there only then...a friend of mine tried the same thing...she got her COPR and PR visa and she went to Service Canada to change the SIN....they said you have to officially land in order to change your SIN...

So it means that until we get the SIN, officially we are not authorized to work in Canada?

Ok, but this doesn't mean that we have to show those funds!!!

getting the SIN only entitles you to work IF IT DOES NOT START WITH A DIGIT 9.

on the other hand if your SIN starts with a 9 that means you need to have a work permit to work...having SIN does not entitle you to work in that case.

In your case it's better if you can show some funds but if you don't have you don't have....nothing you can do....try to do your best diligence..

This is totally crazy thing. What happens if the SIN starts with a 9?
