Booked my medical for Monday 2nd December in the Greater Vancouver area for $230 per person. I am surprised that it is so soon as I had read that these doctors are extremely busy.

Just received MR and RPRF 2013-11-26. Interview waived. So happy! ;D

We were very worried when the processing time changed to "25 months" but this appears to be incorrect as we have only been processing for 9 months so far.

Good luck everyone, I am sure you will be hearing good news very soon. :)
"25 months" is for processing that happened between Oct'12 and Sep'13. So it may not correctly state what's happens beyond that timeframe. Having said that, your case still is an exception, since most of the September 2012 folks are still waiting for the processing to start. Hope folks here remain more realistic and applaud CIC for at least taking care of some cases quicker.

I was sent application in dec 2012, also with arranged employment, and still nothing. Is there any sense that job offer. I was in constant contact with the employer and he waiting form me still. But what if this is all taking away, one year have passed now.
By the way my VO is Vienna

Dannyboy, you should try and come in on temporary visa and work permit and start your job, if that's possible. It is a big risk waiting for FSW processing to complete. You can let the PR process continue in parallel.

Obviously the "25 months" figure on the CIC website is not incorrect, however it is inaccurate for people in our category. This spreadsheet is very revealing: http://data.gc.ca/data/en/dataset/427337d0-7c36-4fed-8428-c6a63f8c19b3

To understand how long processing will take, first we need to understand the MI (Ministerial Instructions) categories:

MI1: Applications received by CIO between February 27, 2008 and June 25, 2010
MI2: Applications received by CIO between June 26, 2010 and June 30, 2011
MI3: Applications received by CIO between July 1, 2011 and NOW

The "25 months" figure applies to all applications received by CIO "On or after June 26, 2010", which corresponds to MI2 & MI3.

This thread is dealing with people whose applications were received by CIO between 1st July 2012 and 3rd May 2013, i.e. MI3 applications. The spreadsheet shows that CIO processed MI3 applications finalised between July 1 2012 and June 30 2013 took the following amounts of time:

% DoneMI2MI3MI2 & MI3 (combined)
20%23 months12 months12 months
30%24 months12 months12 months
50%27 months13 months13 months
70%30 months13 months14 months
80%31 months14 months15 months

It is important to note that the spreadsheet is only up-to-date as of June 30th 2013, whereas the website is up-to-date as of October 30th, 2013. However it does give more hope to MI3 applicants than the website might suggest.

Agreed, your employer should try to get a LMO (Labour Market Opinion) then you can come to Canada immediately with up to 3 years work permit and your FSW can continue being processed during this time.

LMO is quite easy to get and can take 1 - 6 weeks. My LMO took 10 days I believe.

Work permit allows you to live and work in Canada but only for this 1 company. Your spouse can a get an OWP (open work permit) allowing them to work for any company. Your dependents can also come of course.

People only started being processed in the last week. Before that no-one from CPP-O had received anything. I suggest waiting at least a couple of weeks longer before contacting them.

"The times are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between October, 2012 to September 30, 2013." Your and any other applicant's successful completion will make a difference in the quarter that you have the PR. So "25 months" doesn't predict that next quarter data

Agree that the data is cumulative, but all applicants in this forum September 2012 are MI 3 and somehow all fall in the 80% who will get visa and passport returned in a month since their processing started . It just doesn't add up and goes to prove that past data may not reflect future processing time. So sit back relax and wait and if you are lucky you'll hear soon

The processing time for MI3 has probably gone up (especially considering the strike), but if you assume everyone who went into processing recently will be done in the next 2 months then that will be 7/25 (28%) processed within 18 months and 6/25 (24%) processed within 16 months.
