I want to update you all that my status has been changed with the addition of second line.

1. We received your application for permanent residence on October 7, 2012.
2. We started processing your application on September 24, 2013.

Can anyone explain this and what will be the next step? Any thought on employer verification, like when can I expect the call etc?

Hello Everyone,

I just received the GCMS I requested a few weeks ago. Not sure if it is the same as the rest of you guys but it is a CD with a PDF file that includes all the documents I sent with my application scanned. The first page of the document is the "record check", the last record listed is for Jan 28th, 2013 when the application arrived to Ottawa after it was transferred from Sydney.

So I guess this tells me there has not been any progress whatsoever :(

Regards

Hi friends,
After waiting for 10 months finally the second line appeared on my e-case. stating we have started processing your file on sep 23. In that mean wile i got a reply for my inquiry on oct 1. I send this inquiry exactly two months ago and the reply from NDVO is posted below.

This is in response to your recent email inquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi.

We acknowledge to have received application forms for this application.

Furthermore under Canada’s immigration legislation, all immigrant applications are subject to statutory requirements, including medical and background checks. These requirements must be satisfied before an applicant may be granted permanent resident status. In this context, certain background investigations are being conducted in connection with your application. As these investigations are conducted by outside agencies, we have no purview over the processing time. We are therefore unable to give an exact time frame in which we expect to conclude the verifications on this case.

For now, there is no action required on your part. Please be assured that as soon as the checks are completed the next steps in this application will be determined. Until then, we will not be able to provide any additional information on this case.
We trust that this information will be of assistance.

I have few questions,

1. Is that in my case just they have started my background check (i mean after my second line updated in my e-case)
2. If they just started my background check so how long i should have to wait for my MR.
