Could you please advise if we can submit Birth Certificate issued by Indian consulate here in Toronto? I have seen people saying that Affidavit by a Lawyer is must ...I am confused !!

I do not think it is safe to use a birth certificate issued by a consulate, since they most likely issue it based on your passport, NOT from the original birth document... Seniors please confirm...

Hi everyone,

Can you tell me how to check the status online after getting AOR? Moreover, can we change address online?

Thanks

You can go on this website: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=ecas
For the identification type you can use ''Client ID number'' it is your Universal Client ID written on your work or study permit.

Once logged in you can update your mailing address.

u have to call cic call centre to change ur address. if u do it online, there are chances that they might not update it.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried to connect but the system does not accept. Does checking status online take some more time after getting AOR?

Is it compulsory for CEC applicants to take IELTS test ?

Is their any sort of exemption - what if you have taken it two yrs ago and expired...?

Yes, it's a requirement for applicants to take an IELTS test. If your test is more than 2 years old, you need to re-take it again.

No you must take it again if you wish to apply under CEC stream.
