Ecas can sometimes be ahead of things, but usually it's hopelessly behind and even faulty. Both addresses in our application have been misspelled in Ecas, most likely because nobody really cares that much about spelling in Ecas. I don't think Ecas is important at all to VO's. It might be more somethign that they are obligated to deal with, a chore they dread, postpone as long as possible and be sloppy about.

I'm completely okay with that, as long as they are not sloppy about the actual application! ;D

It is outsourced!

The wait will now be more excruciating... We just found out that we are expecting our firstborn and my wife is now having a difficult trimester with all the morning sickness, food craving and just general sadness over me not being there going through all of that. :'(

Out of frustration, I emailed CIC (replying to their email address that was sent along with the PPR request) asking if there were any requirements that is needed and stated my wife's ordeal and that we are expecting our firstborn. Now that I have a clear mind, I'm not so sure that my email (very respectful yet very clear over my sadness over not being my wife right now) is the best idea, as it had only been 3 weeks since I submitted my PPR. I hope this doesn't make them delay my visa even more... :'(

I feel sad reading this it's really a big deal for me as a wife to have my husband beside me when I give birth. I feel sad for you and your wife. I really hope u get your visa soon. If they would give me a chance to choose and tell them who they should give first their visa if it's u or me I'd be happy to tell them to give it to u and I will just wait. I will be including u and your wife's safe delivery in my prayers. Just be strong and have faith. ;)

I just received news on my visitor extension request! Unexpectedly early, I applied for it on November 24 through regular mail and expected (and even hoped!) it to take 4 to 5 months.

But I got an extension until January 11, 2013! This means I can stay with my husband until my PR has processed! ;D

I'm almost a bit embarrassed about this good news, as I know not everyone is as fortunate as I am... :(

This probably seems like a really silly question but.....what does AOR stand for on the spreadsheet? the reason I ask is that Quince77 is at that stage and i think im only about two weeks behind...so i am just curious as to where i might stand

AOR = Acknowledgement of Receipt

thanks....but now i have another silly question... receipt of what? receipt of payment for fees?

Congratulations!

Acknowledgement of Receipt means that your VO sends you a message (email or regular mail) saying they received your application.

OHHHH.....Congrats!! I wish the buffalo office was that fast!

You are not gonna believe this...

This morning I had a knock on the door from Canada Post. The delivery man was standing there with a Canada Immigration envelope from Berlin..! So I thought this could be my PPR or a request for additional docs. I very quickly signed for delivery and thanked the mailman.
I opened the envelope...

And was looking at what I thought was the PPR!

It wasn't until I at down later to read what exactly I was required to do next that I realized I wasn't looking at a PPR at all...

I was looking...

at...

my COPR!!!

I'll probably land tomorrow by driving to the border at Niagara, then probably take a day trip to the US first, then turning around and landing.
It is not a problem to land during the weekend, is it? No office hours only rule?

@Indigo,

When I became PR, I landed in Niagara, by going to US and turning back, on a snowy weekend in January last year !!!
In US border they asked me, why are you going to US, I said I need to get my PR on the other side, they said Congrats and let me in with no further questions. On the other side it was a cake walk as well.

Absolutely no problem at all.

Congrats for your COPR :)
